Working at her family's business

Since she was 16, Emily's parents have put her to work in the family business every Saturday afternoon and every Wednesday after school, in order to teach the girl the importance of discipline and hard work. Of course, Emily was just glad she had some extra spending money.

Now Emily is 18, and in the past couple years she felt like hardly anything interesting happens. Each day she'd pray for something to break the monotony of those Saturday afternoon shifts, and yet nothing happened.

Until today. Unfortunately, although Emily's prayers for excitement will be answered, they will certainly not be answered in the way she was hoping.

Before we continue, though, we should find out what kind of business Emily's family runs, and what Emily's responsibilities are.
