Word of Arrival

Selvina met the team in her office, with the pups in a fenced-in section next to her desk. She also had a small collection of snacks for herself opposite the pups; she was still breastfeeding them. Selvina was still sporting her typical look; she just opted to go topless for a while, so now she was in off-white lingerie but without the top portion, so her bare breasts were on full display. Yuri and the girls with him, which was only Thelsia and Usagi this time around, were curious about this called meeting.

“Is this everyone available,” inquired Selvina.

“Yes,” said Yuri, “Althana is still busy with making sure her atelier is being constructed properly; Lithira is out hunting creatures with Alma to bring back for Althana’s soap production experiments.”

“And so,” said Thelsia, “that leaves the two of us to join Yuri for this meeting.”

“That’s considerably preferable,” said Selvina, “I don’t like the idea of filling the room while the pups are here,” she took a quick look back at the twin wolf pups enjoying their most recent nap, “and am quite thankful they can currently sleep through something like this,” she returned her attention to Yuri and his companions. “We finally got word on the temple representative that will be assigned to you; she will be arriving with her guardian in two or three months' time; they apparently have a few more affairs than anticipated to get in order before they arrive here.”

“What can you tell us about them,” inquired Usagi.

“Not a whole lot,” said Selvina in annoyance, “what we do know is that both are beastkin; the guardian is reportedly a Caprae, but we haven’t really gotten word on what sort of beastkin the priestess is. What we do know about her is that she is a priestess of Nocturia, the Goddess of Night, Time, and Boundaries.”

“I get the feeling that her appointment has something to do with how I ended up here in the first place,” said Yuri, “but I’ll still need to get confirmation regarding that, and the priestess will likely be the best option. Especially since the clergy here, even the High Priestess, don’t seem to know anything regarding how it was that I even arrived here in the first place.”

“That’s not too surprising,” said Usagi, “to my understanding, the goddesses tend to only share with each other under very specific circumstances, and chances are any parties involved in bringing you here want to keep things quiet until they are sure the bulk of their prep work had been taken care of.”

“Yeah, that tracks,” said Selvina, “regardless, the priestess and her paladin will be arriving within the specified time; I do hope everything will be properly available for their use when they get here.” She took another glimpse back at her white and black cubs, “And I do hope Luna and Eclipse will be appropriate when that time comes,” she turned her attention towards Yuri again, “I thank you for the name suggestions and explanations for those suggestions. Now, are there any questions any of you would like to ask?”

“Is there anything we should be especially aware of during their stay,” inquired Thelsia.

“Not that I am aware of,” said Selvina, “but it would probably be a good idea to keep a lookout for anything that might require your expressed attention.”

“I’ve usually managed to follow the terminology of this world pretty well,” said Yuri, “quite a bit lines up nicely with the lexicons I’m used to seeing in certain demographics and groups, but I am a bit at a loss on what a ‘Caprae’ is; what is that, exactly?”

The three women gave each other an awkward look for a moment before Thelsia said, “Caprae are beastkin with goat features. They usually tend to be a bit friskier than most other races.”

“They sound like satyrs,” said Yuri amusedly.

“I don’t think that is a term I am familiar with,” said all three women in near unison.

“To keep it simple,” said Yuri, “where I come from, the satyr is a mythological entity that has the torso of a human, but they are basically goats from the waist down and occasionally have goat horns on their heads; they are also described as being rather promiscuous and the like; they are even described as having rowdy debaucherous parties from time to time.”

“Well,” said Selvina, “that sounds mostly like the Caprae, wild parties and all, and even the debauchery is pretty on point for most of their communities I visited when I was younger.”
