Woken up early

You are woken up by the sound of muffled shouting. Feeling around your bed, you notice that James is no longer in the room with you. Pulling on your clothes, you make your way into the hallway.

As soon as the door opens, the shouting gets louder. You quickly realize that Chris and James are having an argument around the corner from the hallway that your room is in. You sneak up to the edge of the wall to listen in.

"I'm not letting him go out there alone with her!" James shouts angrily.

"Every new member to this group has to go out on their first run to learn how to scavenge." Chris explains. "It happens to be Vince's turn for scavenging, so Alana is going with him."

"This is bullshit, and you know it, Chris! Vince is a psychopath, there's telling what he would do to her."

"Vince is a member of this group. He had the same obligations as everyone else here. He's not a psychopath, he lost his family and his friends in a matter of days. I can't blame him from being on edge."

"Alana doesn't deserve this," James argues.

"We've all gone through this, James. Even you. You can't let your feelings for her cloud your mind."

You can't listen to anymore arguing. You step past the wall and reveal yourself to the two men.

"Alana, I..." You cut James off with a 'stop' hand gesture.

"I heard everything," is all you say.

"Well then, what do you think Alana? Do you feel comfortable going out there with Vince?" James asks you.
