"No," you answer. "I'm not comfortable going out there with a man whose only interaction with me has been sticking a gun in my face."

James starts to say something, but you cut him off.

"I don't have a choice, though. This is Chris's group, and his rules. I need to contribute to this group, and I will. I'll just have to get over the fact that Vince is my partner for this trip."

"Thanks for understanding, Alana," Chris says. "Trust me, nothing in this decision was personal."

"I know, Chris."

James sighs, resigned to his fate. It was hard enough arguing with Chris, it's much harder to argue when you agree with Chris. There is a tense silence between the three of you, before James finally speaks.

"Fine, then come with me, Alana. If you're going out there, I wanna make sure you're prepared."
