With Penny and Ruby Taking Down Some Grimm

Penny and Ruby had some free time between their classes and had decided to use it by further honing their skills as huntresses. Currently the two were in the middle of the forest that sat right outside of Beacon fighting against a couple of Beowolves and Ursas, nothing too out of ordinary. In just a few minutes they had decreased the group of grimm into just two, one for each of them. Ruby cut down the Ursa the stood in front of her using Crescent Rose in its scythe form Penny floated in the air and blasted the last remaining Beowolf with her Floating Array.

Ruby: Good job!

Ruby transformed Crescent Rose into its sniper form to make it easier to carry around as Penny landed beside her.

Penny: Thank you, Ruby. I do enjoy the time we spend together as it is both fun and allows us the train and improve ourselves

Ruby: Uh, yeah I like that as well.

Ruby slung Crescent Rose over her shoulder and began walking away, heading toward Beacon Academy

Ruby: Anyways, we should probably get back before our next class starts.

Penny didn't follow though, instead she stood in place.

Penny: But my scanners indicate that there is one more grimm within the vicinity. Should we not take care of it?

Penny pointed off to something in the distance. Ruby stopped walking and looked at the direction that Penny pointed off to. Ruby couldn't see anything except trees and brush.

Ruby: ...Is it close?

Penny: Yes, only a mile away

Ruby: Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to check out.

Ruby smiled as she looked over to Penny

Ruby: Race you there!

Ruby used Petal Burst to propel herself forward as supersonic speeds, only coming off as a red blur of rose petals to the naked eye. Penny soon followed, using the busters under her feet to launch herself forward. Despite this, Penny was still slower than Ruby, even if she hadn't gotten a head start. By the time Penny caught up with Ruby, she was standing at the edge of a small clearing in the forest, which is where Penny's scanners had indicated the grimm was located.

Penny: It seems that you've won this time

Penny beamed though didn't get a response back from her friend, causing her to drop the smile a look at her friend in confusion. Penny soon noticed that Ruby was standing perfectly still, completely petrified in fear.

Penny: Ruby, is something the matter?

Ruby: Hook...

Penny: Huh?

Ruby: HOOK RAY!!!

Ruby pointed forward, following Ruby's finger, Penny spotted a white hook attached to long, black chain-like object floating in the middle of the clearing. Penny cocked her head in confusion and stepped forward to the hook.

Penny: Hook Ray? That form of grimm isn't in my database.

Penny tapped her finger against the tip of the white hook, causing it to sway slightly due to **** she applied onto it. Though other than that, the hook remained docile, simply just floating there in the clearing still, not even bothered by the presence of Penny or Ruby

Ruby: Penny, get away from there!

Penny turned around to face her friend who was now shivering

Penny: May I ask why? This grimm seems rather harmless.

Ruby: Harmless? They're super dangerous! In fact, Ms. Goodwitch has described them as the most dangerous grimm in existence. She's warned us that if we ever see one, we have to report it to her immediately.

Penny looked back at the hook, she's learned that looks could be deceiving, so perhaps there was a bit more to this hook than it seemed. Penny's eyes began to trail up the chain-like tail, it went up high, extremely high; to the point where Penny could make out the main body of the grimm even if she used the zoom in feature in her eyes.

Penny: Very well, you can go off and get Ms. Goodwitch while I stay here

Ruby: What? Didn't you hear what I said, you can't fight that thing!

Penny merely shock her head and wave her hand to Ruby's response

Penny: I do not plan on engaging it. Just watching over it to make sure it doesn't move

Ruby stood there for a moment, a worried expression on her face, she seemed to be contemplating whether Penny's plan was a good idea or not.

Ruby: Well...Uh...Yeah, I guess that works.

Ruby smiled nervously which Penny responded back with friendly smile

Ruby: Stay safe!

Ruby used her Petal Burst once more and rushed off in the direction of Beacon Academy. Penny turned around to face the hook. Noticing that she was still close to it, Penny took two steps back to put some distance between herself and the grimm before she stood at attention, her eyes only focused on the floating hook.
