Does Wilson give the phone back?

Wilson plays her along a little bit.

“First you need to thank me,” Wilson demands, feeling himself harden in excitment at the power he now has. He’s had a crush on Carol since he hit puberty, and she has always made a point of treating him like a kid, in particular, never letting him forget that she is 5’9” to his 5’6”.

“Thank you for what?” Carol exclaims.

“For finding and returning your phone.”

Carol flies into a rage, “You stole my phone! I’m not thanking you for giving it back!”

“If you are going to jump to unproven allegations, I am going back inside.” Wilson heads towards his back door.

Carol feels a wave of panic watching him retreat. The boy was annoying, but what other options did she have if he left her alone and naked in her backyard. The fence between her yard and the Wilson’s was only about waist high, but the fencing around the rest of her yard was taller even than her. The key to the back gate was on her keychain in Wilson’s pocket. Climbing the fence seemed dangerous, even without the risk of splinters on her naked body, and where would she go? The sun was getting low in the sky, maybe she could risk it after dark?
