Chapter 4

How does Willow try to get the money? Where does she go?

Willow makes a plan

Willow closed her eyes, and took a couple of deep breaths. She needed to make a plan. She remembered that she might have just enough money in her bank account for this month’s rent, but she has to get to an atm to get it. The closest atm was located near a strip mall.

Next, her route. For the first step of her journey, she has to leave the street. She could take the walkway, since there are not a lot of people out at this time of day. But “not a lot” doesn’t mean none. Alternatively, the could climb the the fences and leave through the neighbour’s backyards. She’d had to go through three backyards, but the odds of being seen were lower.

“Hey, you whore!” Yelled Abby from the window. “Are you gonna move your sad ass, or are we gonna have to look for a new roommate?”

Willow frantically put her bank card in her head band, and embarked on the longest day of her life.
