Where does it lead

You walked slowly following the stone brick road before you saw the end of the fog in sight. Hearing some crows cawing you turned to see your dark reflection walking slowly behind you. As you noticed him you ran drawing his attention as he ran to catch you before you crossed out of the fog pass the worn stone fence. He stopped as if trapped before speaking. “You may have gotten away this time Nathan but the next time you return I will be free once more count on it!” He yelled as he slowly faded into the fog.

You sighed before continuing to limp home following the dirt road. Sure you felt like shit now that your adrenaline had worn off but at least you got a cool souvenir from the trip regardless.

Hours Later...

As you finally saw the Price family farmhouse come into view you could see Harmony sitting on the porch her hands covering her face as if crying as she was facing down. As you opened the gate she looked up revealing that her eyes puffy and red and by the look on her face made a bit die just looking at her. As the two of you made eye contact Harmony quickly stood up and ran to you embracing you in a hug. Words were meaningless as you held your girlfriend with your leg arm.

Harmony quickly broke off looking you over before speaking. “How did you get out the forest? When your Uncles came back Aunt Sadie knew something was up and well your Uncle Ted told her that it was your uncle Andrew’s idea and-“

You kissed Harmony savoring her soft and supple lips before braking off the kiss for air. Holding your forehead to her forehead you smiled before speaking in a soft voice. “Did you really think I wouldn’t come back? Come on you know me Harmony I never break a promise not if I can help it besides I have you waiting for me I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I broke your heart.” Your said as you held her close. Harmony only wiped her tears before smiling.

You leaned on Harmony as she lead you inside the farmhouse where aunt Sadie sat at the dinner table much in the same state Harmony was in before she looked up and saw you. “Oh Nathan oh my god she said before you put your hand out keeping her at arm’s reach. “Not that I am not happy to see you aunt Sadie but I think my body would appreciate not being hugged right now.” You said as you felt something shift in your chest. Soon you couldn’t breathe and before you knew it darkness consumed your vision
