Chapter 6 by porneia porneia

How do you play out Rae's arrest?

When in doubt, punt.

“Guys, I know it is only 9:30 PM.” You try to turn your attention back to the game and away from your current puerile thoughts. “But with the party split up into four different groups, why don't we call it a night? I am going to have to briefly play out each of your situations. We can do it by text, but if you have something more detailed in mind, we can get together for an individual session.”

Everyone agrees, except Sandra, who remains quiet.

Before you can chat with the curvy cleric, however, Saul comes over and begins to discuss what his character will do next. Usually, you enjoy how your friend is so passionate about the game, but you really want to know what Sandra is thinking. As David moves in to chat with the buxom brunette, however, you are consigned to a long conversation with Sir Michael Dupré.

Over forty-five minutes pass before the group begins to disperse. The wait is worth it, however, because when Saul finally leaves Sandra excuses herself from her conversation with David and walks over to you as you pack up your DM's gear.

“I hope you enjoyed yourself tonight?” You simply ask.

“Yeah,” she smiles with those beautiful full lips, “I like your friends, they're a lot of fun and I'm enjoying the game more than I thought. It's a great way to express my acting fetish without my parents freaking.”

“Good to hear it.” You nod, trying not to focus on her use of the word “fetish.” “It's great having you in the group, you're a natural.”

“Thanks.” She unconsciously twirls a strain of her lush brown hair around a finger with an adorable nervous look. “I'm sorry for panicking and picking up the dice. Vivian told me that was a major faux pas.”

“It's not a problem.” You struggle not to stare too much into either Sandra's enchanting eyes, or at her ample chest. “It's not like you were trying to intentionally cheat.”

“I'm amazed how quickly you come up with a story.” The attractive sophomore looks down at your DM note book. “I've met a few skilled writers and story-tellers, but being able to be so imaginative and instantaneously creative with a constantly changing story is a real gift.”

“Umm. Thanks.” You stammer like an idiot, completely invalidating her compliment.

“I hope my getting arrested,” Sandra looks back up at you, “isn't going to be too much of a complication for you and the other players.”

“Not at all.” You try to remain calm as your heart begins to race from noticing for the first time how wonderful she smells. “Don't worry.” You answer while silently praying that a bead of sweat won't roll down from your forehead. “Since Rae is a lawful good cleric of a well respected god, the guards will let her off with a fine and a strict warning.”

“Oh.” Sandra answers a bit disappointed as you begin to realize just how badly you're fumbling this conversation.

“But if you want to talk about it more in detail, we can do that.” You try to recover.

“I'm free tomorrow.”She surprises you. “I have to drop something off at Temple at 4:30 PM and Chabad doesn't begin until 7:00 PM. I am free in between those times. We can find a private corner in the Study Union and play it out.”

“Chabad?” You ask, trying not to sound too excited.

“It's a Jewish college group my parents make me attend.”

“Sounds interesting.” Is your lame reply.

“They're good people,” Sandra admits, “but I confess, I'm kind of curious to hear what happens to me in your D&D world. I've never been patient about cliffhangers, and it looks like it will be quite a role-playing challenge to get out of the trouble I've put myself in.”

At first you think to reassure the newest player that you'll will go easy on her, but then for a brief instant your brain clears. “We'll have to see. Stealing from the Overlord's household, fleeing his guards, and then having the misfortune of being captured in public, means it could get quite perilous for Rae, especially if she has to endure the Overlord's dungeon.”

Your fear that your over dramatic statement was too cheesy is without basis. Sandra's alluring lips every so gently part as her eyes grow a bit bigger. “Dungeon?” Is all she asks.

“Well, it's call Dungeons and Dragons after all.” You can't help yourself.

“So, 4:40 PM at the Student Union.” The buxom beauty smiles. “It's a date?”

Do you agree to meet Sandra at the Student Lounge?
