Chapter 22 by Zeebop Zeebop

What does Sue Storm Do When Reed Richards Returns?

When Reed Returns, Sue Confesses There's Someone Else

The weeks passed. Sue's leg healed. The children returned. She made everything was in order for Reed and the others to return.

And she met with Porkum as often as she could. Slipping out of the Baxter Building late at night. He had, somehow, managed to rent a small apartment just across the street. Sue could slip out of the building invisibly and be there in a few moments.

The rooms were small, the bed barely big enough for both of them. Yet when she felt his snout at her neck—the warmth of his hands grasp her tits—it wasn't long before she was back in that pleasant, mind-numbing haze that ended with her bouncing up and down on his cock, or on her back being railed like the head cheerleader on prom night. She loved how he made such a mess of her, the seemingly endless gooey seed that flowed out of her sore slit after each session in the shower, before she kissed him on the snout and took her leave.

"Until tomorrow, love," she told him, a little sadly.

"Tomorrow can't come soon enough," Porkum said, and in Sue's eyes his own dark, piggy eyes seemed deep wells she could get lost in.

The other preparations were quiet. Jennifer Walters agreed to draw up the paperwork, gave her advice on how to prepare for the divorce. Separate accounts, communual property—but more than that, she tried to dissuade Sue. Certain there was more to it than the Invisible Woman was letting on.

The day that Reed and the others returned was supposed to be a happy one. Sue, Franklin, and Valeria all rushed to meet them, the heroes that had returned from the interdimensional void. The joy was a bit subdued when they saw them; the men had failed to find the dimension that the robot had come from. They smelled from the cramped interior of the ship, they needed a bath, a shave, a haircut; even the Thing could use a soak.

Was there a flicker of concern in Reed's eyes at the coldness of his wife's greeting? Did he suspect, as she guided them to the dinner table for their first proper meal in weeks, that something was off?

If he didn't during dinner, then he knew after. When he came out clean from the shower, and his arm stretched out to reach for her...and ran into an invisible barrier.

"Sue?" the smartest man in the world blinked. "What's..."

"Reed...I have to tell you," Sue said quietly. She sat on the bed, protected by that invisible bubble. Untouchable by him. "I've been unsatisfied in our marriage. Sexually. For a long time. I've felt—unloved, unappreciated. Left behind while you went galavanting around the galaxy."

Her hands were in tight fists on her knees. She wore only a sheer white nightie, legs bare, but she sat stiffly as she gathered the strength to say what she had to next.

"And...there's someone else. I met a man while you were gone. We've...we've become lovers. I didn't want it to be this way, but I couldn't go on after we—after he'd fucked me so hard that I came again, and again, and again. Countless times. You know I've never actually cum when I've with you, in all the times we've made love?"

Reed stood frozen for a moment as if he was a statue. Then the skin and muscle began to sag from his bones in rubbery folds. Something Sue knew only during times of utmost stress. It gave him a grotesque, older appearance that emphasized how far apart they were in age.

"Darling, you can't mean that, I—if you're not happy, we can work on it, I—this can't be true. This is some trick. You're a Skrull, or being controlled by the Puppeteer or—"

Sue stood up. "It's real. And it is happening. I've already started the paperwork for the divorce."

She stared at him, not with love, but with pity.

"I didn't want to make a scene about it. Not before the children, or Ben and Johnny. For their sake, Reed, get ahold of yourself. I've—made up the guest room. You can sleep there tonight."

How does Reed Richards respond to Sue's confession?
