Wheel of Misfortune, Accidental Spark

Lauren left her hut, dressed in her long, yet tight, sabertooth fur after spending a good hour stuffing her moss and lichen down the front. The young woman smiled as she past several members of the tribe; woman glaring at her maliciously and men practically drooling over her as she walked by.

Lauren kept walking as she arrived at her destination: The cave that her sister, Vanessa, would use to create her inventions. The second she stepped into the cave, Lauren laid her eyes on her naturally bustier (a modern day D-cup that was only a little smaller than her makeshift bust), eighteen-year-old sister, who was hard at work creating something new.

Hearing the sound of someone approaching, Vanessa turned towards her visitor... And glowered at the sight of Lauren. "Lauren leave cave!" She snapped, turning her back to her sister as she continued to chisel away at whatever she was working on.

"Nessa no talk to sister like that." Lauren replied with a giggle.

"Lauren leave cave now!" Vanessa barked again. "No steal from Nessa this time!"

"What Nessa mean?" Lauren asked with a faux hurt expression, despite knowing full well what her sister meant. "Lauren no steal from Nessa."

"Yes Lauren do!" Vanessa snapped angrily. However, with one last whack from her tools, her angry expression turned to one of excitement. "But Lauren no steal from Nessa now!"

With a sense of pride, Vanessa stood up and stood back to reveal... A round rock with a hole in the middle.

"That it?" Lauren asked, clearly unimpressed. Her sister had invented the use of spears for fishing, paint made from mashed up berries, and even the idea to domesticate the wild dogs into guards for the tribe against bears, sabertooths, hyenas, and other predators... And this was the best she could come up with?!

If she ended up taking the credit for this, she'd be laughed out of valley!

Vanessa, on the other hand, was taken aback by her sister's tone. "'That it'?!" She balked, "That future! That help tribe and tribes everywhere!"

"It rock, Nessa."

"It not rock! It..." Vanessa argued, pausing to think for a few seconds before admitting, "Nessa not come up with name yet. But it not rock! Watch!"

With that, Vanessa gave the rock a push, allowing it to role forward. The two women watched as the rock continued to roll until it crashed into a log, snapping the wood in half before falling over and shattering into rubble.

Lauren shrieked with laughter as Vanessa ran towards her invention in horror, kneeling down and picking up two of the rocks while on the verge of tears. All those months of hard work, wasted!

"Nessa right!" Lauren laughed as she headed for the exit of the cave, "Lauren no steal from Nessa this time."

Something snapped within Vanessa as she looked up at her retreating sister, growling at her in anger. Lifting up the two rocks in her hands, she began to smash them together, making it look like, from her point of view, that she was smashing Lauren's head with the two stones.

That was when it happened...

As Vanessa was angrily smashing the rocks together, several small sparks flew off them and landed onto the two halves of the log, causing smoke to billow from them. Seeing and smelling the smoke, Vanessa stopped what she was doing and turned her attention to the smoking pieces of wood in confusion.

Lauren had just reached the mouth of the cave when she smelled something off. Turning around, Lauren saw Vanessa staring at the two smoking halves of the log as she came closer to investigate.

Vanessa looked down at the two rocks in her hands before looking back at the wood. Curiosity getting the better of her, Vanessa lifted the two rocks and bashed them together again. This caused several more sparks to land onto the log...

Which erupted in flames, causing the two woman to recoil in surprise and fear.

"What Nessa do?!"

"Nessa not know!"

Vanessa carefully took a stick and poked the burning log, letting out a yelp as she dropped the now burning stick, extinguishing it in the dirt. Vanessa reached out her hand and felt the warmth radiating from... Whatever she had just made.

"It warm." She stated obviously, "Really warm. It fights back cold."

An idea then popped into Vanessa's head as she got up and went over to a spear with a fish on it. As Lauren watched on in complete silence, Vanessa brought the fish closer to the... Whatever this was, allowing the warm flames to tickle the meat. After half an hour, Vanessa pulled the fish back and sniffed it.

It smelled good. Really good.

After a minute or two of debating her next move, Vanessa took a bite of the fish. Her eyes widened as she chewed and swallowed.

"Lauren eat fish!" Vanessa exclaimed.

Lauren was a little hesitant but stood up and took a bite from the fish as well. Her eyes widened as a sliver of drool made its way down her chin while she chewed and swallowed.

It tasted good, too! It tasted really good!

"Nessa no dummy!" Lauren exclaimed, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. "This wonder!"

"Yes!" Vanessa exclaimed as she dropped the spear in excitement, "With this, Tribe will notice Nessa! Tribe may even make Nessa leader!"

While the younger sister had said that last part as a joke before retreating to a corner to think of what to call her new discovery/invention, as well as how to show it off to the tribe, that statement got the wheels in Lauren's head turning. With all the other inventions and discoveries that Vanessa had made and she took credit for, all Lauren received in return were a few dates from the local tribesmen and 'thank you's from the elders.

But with this life changing discovery/invention? She really could rule the tribe as the hottest and most beautiful leader in the valley!

With a wicked smile, Lauren waited until Vanessa had her back turned before picking up a fallen branch and collecting a portion of the... Whatever this was, watching it spread around the branch as she quickly made her way out of the cave.

Unbeknownst to the woman, Lauren failed to notices that little embers were beginning to fall from the burning branch...

A few making their way onto the back of her sabertooth hide...
