What knows the FBI?

“I know you must be fed up hearing things about your father, but he is the key point of many investigations against organized crime,” agent Warren tells you serious, “****, weapons, sex slaves, money laundering, corruption and many more crimes are connected to him. But he rarely gets involved personally, so it is almost impossible to proof anything. When your mother left him, he was the right-hand man of your grandfather. But five years ago, we managed to put him behind bars and your father took over the business.”

“I know,” you say annoyed, “my mom told me. I may have mentioned it already but I’m here to talk about her ****, not about my father who is not even related to it.”

“I understand you perfectly, but you are wrong, he is involved,” agent Warren says calm, “after he took over the mob business, we asked your mother for help. She refused and told us, she doesn’t wants to have anything to do with her former husband, but she also will not risk your safety and move against him. There was no contact, henchman and enemies leave her and you alone and that’s how she wanted it. Since we couldn’t win her over, we used some more … discreet methods. We checked the phone records of your mom. Yours too. And two weeks before the **** happened, there was a twenty-minute call from your mother to your fathers mansion. Or from you, since you have also access to the phone.”

“That’s impossible,” you say and shake your head, “they haven’t seen each other since I was two years old. The old man didn’t cared for me or her.”

“Wrong again,” agent Warren says calm but strict, “right now a lawyer who is working for your father is in this building and tries to get to you. His task is to make sure you don’t talk to us and bring you to the mansion.”

“I’m grown up and didn’t called a lawyer,” you reply, “he can fuck himself.”

“Come on, you know it is not that easy,” agent Warren tells you, “he is a mob boss. He wanted something from your mother and assuming she didn’t gave it to him, he will take it from you. You can’t ignore him. And even if he really has no interest in you, his enemies and victims have. Despite this, how are you going to afford living in your apartment. Without your mother’s salary and with you still going to college, you would have to take several side jobs.”

You don’t answer. He is not wrong. You already took a weekend job to afford some things for yourself. With a side job you maybe could afford the rent, but it would clearly decrease your study time and your social contacts.

“So and what are you proposing?” you ask, “if you want to put a microphone on me and sent me to my father hoping he would be stupid enough to tell me some nasty details about his crimes than forget it.”

“It would be great to have such evidence, but I know this would be unlikely,” agent Warren mumbles smiling, “no, we just want you to keep your eyes and ears open and tell us if you find out anything related to your fathers criminal activities. Or the crimes of his partners and henchman. In exchange we will protect you and make sure you get a new identity and enough money to start a new life once the job is done. I know it sounds dangerous and it is for sure. But agent Wellington and I will be available for you day and night. And we have a friend who will help you and keep contact to us. If you need help, we are at your side immediately. However, the choice is up to you. You can serve justice and start a new live or you can stay loyal to your family who didn’t cared about you for years and hope they will keep you until graduation.”
