How do I prove it to me?
What kind of site is this?
As it is just a dream... there's no reason not to indulge... I slide my hand into my shirt, and... ooh... soft... I slide down to the ground, my knees going weak. Wow. So soft, so responsive... but then, fantasy, right? How my brain is simulating the woman's side of that sublime softness I don't know, but I certainly like it. That warm, wet, hollow feeling.... tension building....
I hear some woman panting and moaning like she's in an adult film, which startles me. I stop and look around... she stips when I do... nobody? Eh... whatever, dream, and I don't mind giving a girl a show... I keep going, playing with the soft orbs in front of me, sliding my hands under my shirt to explore and find those two little points... and the first squeeze triggers a volcano in my middle...
...when I come down panting off the afterglow, I'm feeling a rock wedged in my back, my baby tiger grooming my hair, and stickiness in a place I shouldn't have. The birds have picked up singing, the forest is still there, along with the road and clearing.
Also company, "Hey," a blonde woman in a breastplate, sitting astride a white horse (itself wearing a chain shirt), with a lance and heavy shield, all quite well polished and shining in the sun, looks down at me through the eye slits in her helmet, "How'd you mod out the name, Dan?"
The floating prompt over her head tells me who it is, indirectly: "Alicia Darmon Annette Michaels" is one of the names Adam uses in games. Also, we party together often enough, and he doesn't use a voice changer. Kinda spooky that she's just standing there looking straight ahead.
I blink my furry eyelids a few times... "Because I'm dreaming?" Thinking about it, though, this feels far too real... but... obviously that's impossible... I can't have become my kitsune avatar on the new build that I haven't leveled up yet....
"Uhh... no it isn't?" Adam replies, "I'm sitting at my gaming rig, logged into AlwaysSummer Days."
That gives me pause. I'd pull up the menu, but I'm NOT standing in front of a keyboard and don't have a mouse. I slowly rise to my feet, "Umm... could you do me a solid and come check on me? I have to be mad tripping, then...."
"Hang on, I'll ask Brian, he's closer..." that glass stare and stone-stillness is creepy.
As Adam presumably places a call with his phone, I try something: "Menu!" I shout to empty air.
Adam doesn't react at all, but I do get an overlay in my vision, showing... yep, the game menu. I reach out and explore... stats... yep, my fresh level one build... logout is just gone... so is the main menu, so I can't switch characters... huh, messaging is in place... shadow inventory (just my armor, worn via shadow).... graphics and sound settings gone....
I'm still systemically searching through all the options loking for some way out when Adam speaks up again, "...okay, I know I didn't download any new mod packs. How are you making your avatar DO that?"
I idly turn my head from the menu to look at him, "Do what?"
"That, what you just did," the masculine voicefrom the frmale avatar speaks cryptically.
I shrug and spread my hands, turning to face Adam, "...but I didn't do anything?"
The mannequin in front of me pauses, still as expressionless as ever, "....you're gesturing, moving your lips, and have full facial expression now that I'm zoomed in enough to see. Your avatar has movie-quality resolution and animation. But the rendering happens locally: I know because I've done some modding myself, and it's why the graphics settings exist. I don't have the kind of hardware needed for what I'm seeing. How are you doing that?"
I blink, "I don't know what you're talking about," although I have a sinking feeling that I do, "Umm..."
"Hold on call...." Adam goes silent.
I purse my lips and run my tongue around my mouth as I think... okay, if this isn't a dream, how do I know how to move my fox head? I look behind me... or my twon tails, for that matter? A moment's thought and I'm in my human form... then my fox form... then back to my 'natural' (as defined by the game) shape.
I hear Adam swallow through his mic, and turn back to him, "I don't know how to tell you this..." Adam's avatar is as composed as ever, but his voice is shaking.
