What he normally does

Arthur closed the door, hung up his coat and placed the keys on the table, just like he always did after coming home from work. He then headed into the Kitchen to make himself a cup of tea, milk with two sugars, just like he did every single day after getting back from Work except, when he turned the tap in order to fill the kettle, no water came out.

"Great.." Arthur huffed "Water Board must be digging up the Mains again..." Deciding on postponing his relaxing with a delicious hot beverage until the water was back on, he entered the Lounge, picked up the TV Remote, flopped down into the beaten up armchair in the corner of the room and pressed the Power Button.

The TV didn't switch on.

Curious, Arthur reached up and took hold of the light switch of the lamp that stood behind his favourite chair and flicked it to the "ON" position but, like the TV, the lamp refused to switch on. "Great!" he snorted "First the water's cut off and now there's a powercut, unless, of course, they've switched that off for "Urgent Maintenance" as well!" With no other option left, Arthur decided to get a book to read; he was just crossing the room on his way to the bookshelf when he happened to glance out of the window.

Abbey was still upside down in mid air, staring at the trampoline below her. Arthur changed his course to permit himself to stand just sly of the window, the last thing he wanted to be openly accused of staring at his Neighbour's seven year old Daughter like some kind of demented Pervert. If he was seen standing to the side, he could at least claim it only LOOKED like he was secretly observing the girl when he was, really, just innocently drawing the blinds. "How is she doing that?" he thought as he observed the non moving child "Physics state that she should be falling back down yet there she is, as if suspended by a piece of string..."
