Chapter 5

What does Jack do?
What he had to.
He doesn't know what came over him in that moment, but the chain of events that led to it could not be reversed. He ran for the gun too. Instead of grabbing it though, he reared his foot back and drop-kicked the thug in the head hearing an audible crack and seeing a spurt of blood hit the floor.
The mans face hits the floor, and he doesn't move again. Jack, panicked reaches for his neck and is relieved to feel a pulse.
He sighs and slumps down on the floor, resting his head against the counter with his eyes closed. Again, he still felt nothing for himself. The only thing he felt was relief that he didn't hurt someone. He heard the shuffling of Hawkeye as she rounded up the criminal, but still kept his eyes closed.
"You, uh, you okay dude?" Hawkeye asked.
He opened one eye and quirked an eyebrow, "Yeah, I'm fine. My day is going great, how are you?"
Watching the expression on her face go from shocked, to sour, to a blank face again was certainly amusing, but he closed his eye again before she answered.
"Okay then... I'll just be heading out, I'll take the goon with me, if you want to get cleaned up the cops are on their way."
He opened his eyes once more and began to stand up with a groan, brushing himself off. He watch the superheroine leave with the robber tied up behind her. Jack, unfortunately, still is a hot-blooded male, so his eyes were glued to her heart shaped ass as she exited the store.
Shortly after a police detective walked into the room. The woman was tall, with dark skin, and frizzy black hair. She wasn't as provocatively dressed as Hawkeye was, but she wasn't dressed like a traditional police detective either. The only thing that told him of her status was the badge on her belt.
"Mr. Jordan?"
"That's me."
"I'm Detective Misty Knight with the NYPD, I'd like to ask you a few questions about what happened here today."
So he told her everything.
"Interesting," she said, her hand resting on her chin, the other on the counter she was leaning against, "I might have some more questions for you, so here take my card," she handed him a small business card with her number on it, "and write down your number so I know who's calling."
He shrugged and grabbed a napkin from off the counter, "You got a pen on you?"
She felt around her pockets and shook her head apologetically.
He sighed, "No worries, I saw a marker in the safe earlier."
He walked over towards the safe and grabbed the non-descript marker from its confines. When he made it back to the counter he jotted down his number and name and handed the napkin to Detective Knight, who looked shocked for a second.
"You're sure you want to give me your napkin?"
Huh?
He vocalized his confusion.
"Your napkin, you're giving it to me. Are you sure?" She looked at him like he had grown a pair of new arms.
"Yeah? It's got my number on it which you wanted me to give you, right?" He was very confused.
"Well if you're sure," she shrugged and pocketed the napkin very carefully, "I'll take very good care of it while you let me have it. Anyway, we'll stay in touch."
She then sauntered off, her massive ass jiggling with every step. Damn, he was getting so pent up. He was also just confused, why had she been normal one second and then all awkward about taking the napkin the next?
It didn't make any sense.
Does he put two and two together yet?
