“Now, I just need to understand some things.” The woman continued. “Jessie did not rape you, that sex was consensual?”

“Completely consensual.” Patty told her.

“You understand that as a result of that intercourses, a child was conceived?”

“That was the point.” Patty said.

“You understand, that, by state law, you get full custody of it once it’s born, until such a time that Jessie is out of prison.”

“Knowing all that, we are going to proceed the kidnapping charge. We have reasonable evidence that that she wanted to start the fire, she got cold feet and tried to walk away. Still it was her fault and that’s still arson. Those are the two charges we’re going to move forward with.”
