What To Do, What To Do?

Before John and Ellie could enter the hut, the girls and Sprout began running around the camp. John tried and failed to get them to come back, and was surprised when one of the kobolds meekly approached and tentatively asked, “M-master, want I be small one watcher?”

John looked annoyed at the mention of ‘master’ but sighed, “Yeah, just make sure they don’t get too far away. Maybe try and find a way to entertain them without getting into any trouble. We don’t want them to get hurt, and we don’t want to lose them again.”

The kobold eagerly and possibly happily, though John couldn’t tell, nodded before chasing after the trio. Ellie looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Wanna clue me in?”

John looked at her confused for a second. “Oh right, they asked if I wanted them to look after the girls. I said yeah but to keep them safe and unharmed.”

“Well, that’s handy, could have used that help earlier when we wanted to go exploring,” Ellie laughed quietly.

The two had to walk on their knees as they entered the hut. The interior of the makeshift house wasn’t large and the ceiling was a little low for John and Ellie, but it was impressive to say that it had been constructed in such a short amount of time. It was barren except for a bed of grass beneath the glowing body of Agni and a Luminite spear staked into the ground in each corner. John crawled over and knelt next to the lava girl. “So, what are you going to do with her? You said you were worried and wanted to help, so do you have a plan?” Ellie asked as she moved up next to him to sit cross-legged.

John thought for a moment. “I’m not sure, to be honest. I feel like she might be important somehow, otherwise why would I have gotten the key as a quest reward?”

You are a complete dolt! If I hadn’t given you the key, you would have gone after her regardless; I just thought as a reward I’d save you the time of trying and failing to break her chains.

“... Welp, guess that answers that then,” John grumbled as he stared at the text box.

“Huh? What do you mean?” Ellie asked, confused.

“I just got a message saying I have a white knight complex,” John groaned.

Your words, not mine.

Ellie giggled, “Can’t say I disagree, but that’s what makes you who you are. Anyway, that still doesn’t answer what the plan would be for her, or the kobolds for that matter.”

John groaned again, “I have no clue.”

“You know you’ve been doing a lot of huffing and puffing recently. How about we eliminate what we aren’t going to do,” Ellie suggested.

“Alright… Well, I can’t just kick her to the curb, though I definitely could do that with the kobolds. Obviously, I’m not going to bring her through the gate, though. The only place we could really keep her would be in your lab and that would just be like swapping one prison for another. We can’t ask Lani right now because she has a lot on her plate…” John murmured.

“Okay, so, what can we do then? It’s not like we are going to be staying here and looking after her, and right now it doesn’t look like she’s going to wake up any time soon,” Ellie pointed out.

“Yeah… ah fuck, I don’t want to do that,” John whined.

“You know, I’m not a mind reader, right? You’re going to have to say it out loud,” Ellie lightly laughed, hitting his arm.

“I’m aware... but it still doesn’t mean I want to say it, doesn’t even mean I’m super happy thinking about it…” John said, rubbing the back of his neck. “The kobolds basically made me their leader, and I’m sure that they’re going to try following us through the gate… If I were to give them the task of looking after Agni until we returned or until she decided to leave on her own, then that would give me some time to think of how I can ditch them.”

Ellie laughed. “I like that you get a group of fantasy creatures deciding to make you their king and you’re trying to ditch them.”

“I don’t want to be responsible for them; I’m barely responsible for myself. I don’t even know where I’d start, and to be responsible for all of them too, I’m just not prepared for that,” John explained.

Ellie looped her arm around John’s shoulder pressing her boob into his side. “Well, it might be a good idea to get them to keep an eye out on this lava girl at the very least. Come on, no point in creepily watching her while she sleeps, even if her lava parts are interesting to look at.”

The two exited the hut, stretching and shaking their legs. “I hope everything is suitable for you, master? The others wanted to impress you by getting your orders done as soon as possible which means that the quality is lower than what we are capable of,” one of the two Dragonshield kobolds said.

“Oh, uh. It’s fine, shame we couldn’t stand inside, but it’s not a problem, especially for the time it took to make,” John commended.

The ridges that approximate as eyebrows above their eyes shifted slightly. “Mhh. You, come here,” they called to one of the lesser kobolds close by. “The master would like his quarters to be taller, go tell the others to gather more materials so that we can begin construction.”

The kobold nodded and turned to comply with the orders, but John spoke up, “Wait, there is no need to do that. It’s not important.”

“No, we should have taken that into account before, master. Don’t worry, it isn’t a bother for us to adjust the dwelling,” the other larger kobold said.

John just sighed, ’What the hell am I going to do with these guys? They kind of listen to me but at the same time ignore what I say completely in order to attempt to please me in some way.’

Ellie took hold of John’s arm before addressing one of the two larger kobolds, “So, can you guys speak English or not?”

The kobold cocked its head at Ellie before looking at John. “I believe your human is trying to speak to me, but I don’t know what she is saying, would you please tell me what it wants, master?”

John laughed, “You basically just answered her; she wanted to know if you could understand her.” After addressing the kobold he looked down to Ellie. “It doesn’t seem they can speak English, Ellie. What did you want to ask them? I’ll be an intermediate for the both of you.”

“Oh, nothing really, I just had a thought that maybe when she wakes,” Ellie motioned back into the hut, “they might not be able to communicate. Also, I’m not sure how she’s going to react seeing as these kobolds were holding her prisoner in her own body.”

“Uh, yeah, that’s a good point on the communication thing, but I think she was so far out of it when they found her that she probably won’t even know they were keeping her captive,” John thought out loud. “God fucking damn it, I really don’t know what to do here. I guess the best I can do is have the kobolds take care of her and leave a message with them in hopes she will be able to understand it. It’s not like we could just stay here until she eventually wakes up because who knows when that will be.”

A sudden pink puff of smoke appeared with a fairy appearing from within. “Shut up, Aster; I don’t care, do you do everything you are told? He is technically our Oberon now regardless of if he is a fairy or any other kind of fey,” the pink-haired fairy complained to a spot in the air next to her.

Just as suddenly a blue puff of smoke and a blue hair fairy appeared, looking pissed off. “Leilani told us to stay out of sight and away from them, though, and this is definitely going against direct orders!”

“When has that ever stopped us before? We are the court guard, that means we do what we think is best for our Titania or our Oberon, and right now I think we can help a little,” the pink-haired fairy argued.

Everyone else stopped talking and was just staring at the two tiny girls arguing until John cleared his throat, “Excuse me, what’s going on?”

The two looked slightly shocked as John’s voice cut through their bickering.“Oh, y-your majesty, I’m sorry if we interrupted or were too loud,” the pink-haired fairy replied.

“Alright, let me rephrase that, why are you here? Shouldn’t you be back at the Silverwood grove?” John clarified.

“We were ensuring that you made it back out of the forest and back to the Cullis Gate safely, and now that we have done that, we will be going back to the Silverwood. Isn’t. That. Right. Blossom!?” The blue-haired fairy’s voice rose at her question.

Blossom hummed, “Hmm, nope! I’m pretty sure we can be of service, and I think it would be very rude of me not to at least offer.” The pink-haired fairy turned to stick her tongue out at her partner before turning back to John. “Anyway, so we heard you talking about how to look after the girl inside the shack back there and I thought we could be helpful.

John raised an eyebrow and asked, “And how would you help us?”

Ellie nudged him and gave him a look of ‘what the fuck are you doing?’ but John just gave her a quick peck on the lips before turning his attention back to the two fairies.

“Well, we can keep an eye out for you; obviously, neither of us are hunters or gatherers and we aren’t really healers either, but it’s no trouble for us to communicate in a couple of different languages, we could make sure the girl stays safe and tell her anything you need us to and we can even communicate with these…” her face turned sour momentarily, “reptiles…”

“I believe they’re called kobolds,” John stated in a slightly sarcastic manner.

“I’m aware… We don’t have a particularly pleasant history; the mountain is full of them and they are brutish creatures,” Blossom replied. “Regardless, I can even try to be civil with them in order to help your friend.”

John nodded thinking about it. “Okay, and what’s the catch? What are the terms of your help?”

“Huh? Nothing, we are sworn to our duties, and as our king, we must follow your orders,” the blue fairy piped up.

“Ha, what happened to, ‘we can’t help because it goes against our orders’? Thought you wanted to rush back to the grove? Seriously, Aster? You changed your tune in a hurry,” Blossom laughed.

Aster groaned, “Oh, shut up, we’re here now and if he happens to give us an order, then we are bound to our duties.”

John smiled thinking that the problem was solved, but his face fell as Ellie spoke, “I don’t think so, Lani warned me not to take a favour from a fairy unless you have a specific condition set. So what do you want in return for helping, and be very specific please.”

John smiled, letting Ellie take the reins. The two fairies thought for a moment. Blossom opened her mouth but Aster blurted out, “I want human food from your world!”

“What the fuck? You didn’t even want to help and now you are making the conditions? How is that fair?” Blossom whined pushing the other fairy.

“You snooze, you lose. Plus, don’t you want to try some?” Aster asked.

“Well, yeah, but we could have asked for something... naughty,” Blossom argued.

Aster stopped and thought for a moment. “But… he’s our Oberon and Leilani’s partner. We couldn’t ask for something like that. Also, we are much much smaller than him, it wouldn’t be like when we have fun with our queen,” Aster reasoned.

“Why wouldn’t it? Titania hasn’t stopped playing with us, so why can’t our king play with us too? I’m sure we could think of something we could do,” Blossom stated while side-eyeing John and Ellie.

Aster hummed again, “Okay! But I can’t think of anything right now. So how about this, we both get a kiss each right now. Then we get one request each for something naughty later... when we can think of something.”

Ellie spoke before John could, “And by request you mean that it can be turned down?”

Blossom was quick to reply, flying close to Ellie, “Yes… BUT only if it is something that is seen as unreasonable and/or something you’d refuse to do with anyone else.”

Ellie nodded. “Okay, so we have to make sure to say this specifically and explicitly. In exchange for you overseeing Agni until she wakes and giving her a message from John, you both get a kiss each right now, and then sometime in the future when we see you again, you get a single sexual request fulfilled each that can be turned down so long as it is with good reason, and just since I am nice, if the request is turned down an agreeable compromise on both parties will be reached and fulfilled, just so you aren’t left without anything. Does that sound right or is there anything I missed?”

Both fairies looked at each other, then at John then back to Ellie. “Definitely!” the two said in unison.

“Okay, John, I’m happy with that, so if you want, feel free to agree,” Ellie informed John.

“Uh, look after Agni, tell her a message and then I just have to kiss you and do something sexual for each of you, I guess I agree? BUT! Neither of you can get pregnant or somehow marry me, that’s out of the question. I’ll agree so long as those two conditions are very clear,” John emphasised.

The two fairies giggled, “Agreed!” As soon as they’d said it, they both flew closer. Blossom flew right up to John, and due to her small size, it was less him kissing her and more her kissing his bottom lip. Despite the size difference and the fact it didn’t actually feel like a kiss, it still felt nice.

Blossom moved back and John turned to Aster, only to find her finishing a kiss with Ellie. Aster was quickly replaced by Blossom and then the blue fairy drifted over to John before planting a soft kiss on his lip.

“That was… interesting,” Ellie giggled.

“So you two will keep an eye out for Agni now until we come back, right?” John confirmed looking at the two extremely flushed fairies who both nodded shyly.

“Okay, I think we should probably go find the girls and get back home, don’t you think?” John asked Ellie who grabbed his hand.

“Yep, let’s go look for them and then get out of here. Bye girls, we’ll see you real soon.” Ellie smiled as she pulled John along.
