Welcome

Evie listens intently as Kael describes what happened while he was away, starting with the dream. Even Gabby looks surprised when he describes the vision he had, but she doesn’t interject. Kael explains the battle, though he leaves out some details. Even still, Evie is wide eyed, especially when Kael describes how the slaves were compelled to attack.

She seems relieved when he moves to talk about what happened afterward, and smiles when he explains Gabby’s request. Kael refrains from telling Gabby’s story, figuring she can share that when she feels comfortable. When he finally finishes speaking, Evie is quiet for a moment, before standing up and walking over to Gabby.

“I’m so sorry for what you went through, Gabby, but you’ll be happy here!”

Without warning, Evie hugs Gabby, startling the much larger woman. “Master is such a good person, and I just know you’ll love him as much as I do!”

Kael chuckles. “She just got here, Evie, don’t smother her.”

Gabby laughs, putting her muscular arms around the petite elven woman. “No, I don’t mind. I’ve just never gotten so many hugs! It’s nice.”

Evie laughs, slightly muffled with her face being inadvertently smothered by the holstaur’s breasts. “I could get used to hugs like this!”

Still laughing, Gabby releases Evie. “Sorry, didn’t mean to squish you, there.”

Evie shakes her head, blushing a bit. “No, it was quite pleasant, actually. Although, I think you could use a bath. No offense.”

Gabby looks down at herself. “I suppose I haven’t really had a chance to get clean in…a while.”

Evie looks thoughtfully at Gabby. “Well, I’ll show you to the bathroom. I’m sure master wants to put his weapons away anyway. Unfortunately, I don’t think we have any clothes to fit you.”

Gabby shrugs. “I can cover myself with whatever you can spare. I don’t really care if people see my body, looking never hurt anyone.”

Evie blushes, then giggles. “Okay! Well, come on, let’s get you cleaned up!”

She takes Gabby’s hand, pulling her towards the bathroom. Kael watches them go, chuckling at the byplay between them. He’s glad to see how quickly Evie has accepted Gabby, but he didn’t expect her to be so…forward. At least not at first. Meanwhile, Gabby seems comfortable already, which is wonderful.

With a sigh, he stands, heading towards his personal armory. Evie was right, he was ready to put things away and get settled back at home. After the battle, it was nice to have a home like this to come to. He can hear Gabby’s laughter in the bathroom, and he smiles. Somehow, he now has a full house, and he’s glad for it.
