[WP] The begginings of a harem.

Adam laid in bed, his hookup in the bathroom after having just finished. He checked his phone, nothing. “Hey, so I actually have an early start in the morning,” the other man said as he reemerged from the bathroom. He was drying his hands with a hand towel, his frame outlined by the back lighting of the other room.

“Oh,” Adam said, understanding what he was saying. The sex was done, so Adam was no longer needed in this man’s bedroom. Adam grabbed his clothes, hastily throwing on his pants and shirt.

“We should do this again some time,” he said, leaning next to the bedroom door. He towers over Adam, his muscles drawing all of Adam’s attention in the moment. The hookup leaned in to give Adam a goodnight kiss. His beard brushed against Adam’s smooth face. And then he was gone.

Adam took the subway back to his apartment. And with nothing better to do he scrolled through the dating app, Matchr.

Stephanie. Blonde, 28, cute. He scrolled down, single mother, but that’s not necessarily a deal breaker. Adam wasn’t afraid of being a father, he also wasn’t exactly searching for that. He flipped to a second photo and spotted the cigarette. Pass.

Hector. Hispanic, 24, rugged. Not much in his bio. A dog in his third photo. He did look good, eh why not. Match.

Juniper. Black hair, 26, androgynous. They were a gamer, so there was some common ground. They didn’t have any obvious red flags in their bio. Sure, couldn’t hurt to get to know them. Match.

Ding. Oooh, a match. Hello, Hector. And hello, Hector’s penis. Not bad Hector, but that’s not what Adam was looking for. He had had plenty of years where a dick opener could’ve worked. Nowadays, he was looking for more. He was ready to settle down, and it seemed like the perfect match would perhaps open with words. Unmatch.

Heather. Brunette, 27, gorgeous. Adam browsed through the bio, she seemed normal. He looked through her photos. She seemed familiar. Ah, there it is. Photo 4 was Heather next to his ex. Pass.

FERV. That was an odd name. 30. The first photo was a group shot, and the second and the third. All the photos were group shots. He took to the bio. ‘Not looking for hookups.’ Sounded good to Adam. ‘We are a 4 person harem, looking for a new harem head.’ He reread that line a few times.

‘Left to Right: Fauna(they/she), Elizabeth(she/her), Riko(she/her)’ Adam returned to the photos. The same three women in all of them.

Fauna. Their hair was a deep chocolate, a variety of charms woven into a braid framing the left side of their face. A different shade of eye shadow in each photo, and extravagant eye liner. A smattering of white hearts dotting their cheek reminded Adam of the spots on a fawn’s coat.

Elizabeth. The redhead in the photos. Her glasses were sleek with slightly rounded corners. She struck Adam as bubbly by appearance alone. Her smile unwavered across all photos, her cheeks pushing up to **** her eyes nearly closed.

Riko. East Asian, Japanese if Adam were to hazard a guess. Her arms were covered in tattoos. A septum piercing and a slit shaved in her eyebrow. She gave off badass energy, but Adam could feel the warmth when she was smiling next to the other girls.

He couldn’t quite believe it was real. Surely he’d match and then they’d try to scam him out of money or something. That didn’t stop him though. Match.

Adam walked from the subway station to his little apartment. He decided on a shower, before collapsing into bed. He threw his phone on the charger. His eyes about to close for the night. Ding. The Matchr ding, he could easily ignore it. The match and messages would be there tomorrow. Then he thought of FERV, the ‘harem’ that he swiped on earlier.

Fine, he’d check but if it wasn’t the harem, he’d ignore it till the morning. But sure enough it was them.

FERV: Hey, sexy. You down for a threesome?

Adam: I thought you weren’t looking for a hookup?

FERV: Good job. You’d be surprised how many people fail right there.

Adam: Is this some kind of test?

FERV: Absolutely. We can’t just let anyone in. Are you clean?

Adam wondered who he was talking to. Were they all sitting around the phone? Or was it just one of them.

Adam: As of my last monthly checkup, yes. Just curious. But who am I talking to?

FERV: You can call me V. Have you ever been in a polyamorous relationship before?

Adam: No, but I’m open and willing to learn. V? So you must be the fourth not in the bio.

V: Able to read and perceptive. What are your longest relationships?

Adam: Randy, 6 years. Keisha, 3 years. Sally, off and on over 8 years.

V: That’s quite the resume. Also Randy? I don’t think your bio mentioned you being bi.

Adam: Able to read and perceptive. ;) I don’t advertise it, if I’m attracted to someone and they’re into me, that’s all that matters. Plus it avoids a lot of biphobia that way.

V: Makes sense. So last question. You ready for a first date with Elizabeth?

Author's Note: I usually post these prompts as single chapters. However this one got a little (or a lot) longer than expected. So I'm splitting this up into chapters, and maybe will start doing so in the future even if the chapters aren't extra long (instead of the normal long that these stories tend to be)
