Weeklong Roommates

The group stepped off the tramcar, and after only a fifteen-minute wall up a well-defined pathway, a giant wooden lodge building came into view. A few gasps and awes of surprise were shared among the group and even Kenny had to let out a long exhale of surprise; the building was nothing like what he remembered. Its spruce walls seemed to stretch upright to the sky, dozens of windows let the interior lights shine out, and an occasional puff of smoke could be seen escaping through the few chimney tops, "Trust me, guys, I set everything up for us, it's gonna be toasty warm inside," Brian announced as they all eagerly picked up speed making way right to the lodge doors.

The blonde shoved open the heavy wood doors and lead his group of friends into the lodge, "Now this place is big, we have a few rooms that everyone can share, but there is simply no way that anyone is staying alone. We might have had a single or two before but with Claire and Kennedy now, we all have to pair up," A mixture of groans was heard, but Brian wasted no time jumping in, "Don't stress, the beds are big and comfy, so no one on the floor,"

"So how are we doing this then? We just make a run for it or something, first one to the best room wins it?" JJ jested earning a few chuckles,

"No, but I do want to keep it all fair, I mean after all we're all here for a week so I think it should be left up to chance," Brian smirked as he walked over to a small bowl he had already set aside on an end table just at the den entrance, "So, I took the liberty of setting up a name out of a hat situation..." He gave the bowl of papers a small shake,

"Oh God, you've got to be joking," Juliet exhaled with a roll of her eyes,

"Oh where's your fun, party-pooper," Nicole playfully retorted while confidently walking forward, "I'll pick first!"

"Naturally," Kennedy muttered, "Best chance for you to get a guy, right?"

"Honey, I can get a guy whenever I want, I don't need them as a roommate," Nicole easily retorted as she stuck her hand into the bowl, "This for the masters, Bry?"

"Yep, you were the brave one, so first come means first serve," Brian nodded and Nicole let out an elated smile.

The redhead spun her hand around a few times before snatching a piece of paper and pulling it out from the bowl. She unfolded it and let out a loud laugh, "Oh, would you look at that!" Nicole stuck her hand out at Anna, "It couldn't have been rigged better!"

"No way!" Anna grinned ear to ear, "That's so awesome!"

"Ooh, ooh, let me pick next!" Claire quickly said as she rushed forward, "With everything going on right now, I could use a good room,"

Brian spun and extended the bowl to the teen, "Sure, Claire, next up is the first Queen bedroom,"

Claire bit down on her lip, silently feeling around as if she was waiting for the right name to hit her hand before she finally pulled one out and look. "Huh, cool!" She looked over her shoulder and after doing more than a few double takes, Kenny found the blonde's eyes on him, "I guess you'll be sharing with me,"

"O-Oh?" Kenny all but croaked,

"Jesus, don't cum in your pants over it," Kennedy teased and Juliet gave her a quick, but still light slap on the arm, "Right, right, sorry. I'll go next,"

"Last double room," Brian clarified as Kennedy pulled out a name,

"Wait, who?" Kennedy tilted her head, "Mindy? Who the hell is Mindy?"

"Me, sunshine," Mindy sarcastically grumbled, lightly shaking her head and crossing her arms, "Great,"

"Oh, you'll be fun to be with all week,"

"A real bear would be better,"

"Ooookay," Brian awkwardly cleared his throat, "Uh, the last two rooms have a set of single beds, so no sharing past the rooms themselves," He quickly continued, "Julie? You want to pick?"

"Nope, let JJ," Juliet denied with a glare at the teen,

"Heh, okay, uh, sure," JJ shrugged moving up and grabbing for a name, "Hey, looks like we're sharing a room and a car this week man," JJ said as he turned to Avery,

"Oh, sure, cool," Avery exhaled in relief. He might have preferred Kenny or Mindy, but JJ was much better than Juliet or Brian in his book...though that was for vastly different reasons.

"Which means the last room would be me and..." Brian hummed as he looked around until his eyes landed on Juliet,

"No...oh god, come on," Juliet hissed under her breath, "Anyone at all want to trade?"

"I'd rather take one burning a hole in my back, hun," Kennedy denied while giving Brian a wary side-eye,

"Ugh, dammit," Juliet huskily said under her breath, "Fine, whatever..." The cheerleader reluctantly accepted.

"Alright, enough, enough, it's only for sleeping. It's not like we'll all be stuck together all day long in them. C'mon, let me take you upstairs to your rooms so you can unpack," Brian waved the group on.

Reaching the second floor of the lodge Brian had to group split; Kenny, Mindy, Claire, and Kennedy were to head left where they'd find the set of matching suites fitted with queen sized beds. The others would head right; Anna and Nicole went all the way down to a set of large double doors leading into their master suite while midway through the others split into the set of guest singles rooms that they'd have to share for the week. Each eager to get the first day of their trip going, they unpacked eagerly.
