Week #1

Your head is pounding as you wake up in the middle of the night at the bar. You can't tell exactly what time it is, but it was still dark outside. With a headache, you quickly put away the bottles before your wife notices anything.

Suddenly you hear someone behind you.

"Ahem," the voice cleared its throat.

Strange. You didn't hear anyone come through the door. And who on earth is still out drinking at this hour?

You turn around and see a young woman with a strange-looking hat standing in front of you. She is carrying a bag and a stick on her belt. Who the hell wears a branch on their belt?

"A room. Please." said the young woman.

"Um uh sure. That'll be 10 gold coins."

The strange woman took the money out of her bag and tossed it to you.

"Gunther, why aren't you in bed yet and who is this?"

Mira was standing by the stairs, already in her nightgown.

"Just a customer, honey, I'll be right there," you answer your wife.

She seems satisfied and leaves. You turn to the customer.

"So if it's nothing else I would..."

"that's your wife?" asked the strange woman.

She suddenly had a friendly grin on her face. Almost too friendly.

"Uhh yes. Yes, she is my wife."

"So that's how it is. Hmm. Can I buy her?" the woman asked.

"W..what?" you sputter in disbelief.

"Great, someone like that again." you just think to yourself, remembering the unpleasant businessman.

"Just for the night of course. I'll pay you well" she adds.

"Oh god damn, again? You want to get into every woman's pants, don't you?" said an unknown voice.

Huh. Who said that? It wasn't you and the woman's lips didn't move. That came from the hat, didn't it? No, it can't be. Hats don't talk. You're probably just tired.

You want to get rid of her, but the words are stuck in your throat. Think carefully about your next words. You need the money. Urgently. You think again and then you are absolutely sure of your answer.
