Wedding preparations

The palace Drek's family lives in is a huge one, decorated with marvelous ornaments! A single one of those could buy you a luxury apartment on Coruscant! That palace is where the wedding is going to take place.

Lana (upon seeing the palace): That's where your family lives...?! This is massive!

Ranvi: That's just a joke right...?! You told us you had a palace, but...! That's bigger than the royal palace itself...!

Drek: Yeah, no big deal, this is the official residence of the family. We have a summer palace too, that's quite something!

Lana: I don't think my eyes would be able to keep up with more luxurious decorations than this one...!

HK69: You organics have no eyes for a real decoration! Where are the beheaded beasts your family slew? Where are the trophies you have looted from your dead adversaries? Such things would make a better decoration than these statues!

Drek: We have a room full of bestiary trophies, I'll ask a servant to show you around!

HK69: A full room filled with such things?! Oh, I would very much love to see that! Dead parts of organics are always a sight for my sore high resolution eyes!

Ranvi (nervously): Drek, is Padmé here too...?

Drek: Ehm, no, she will be coming tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, I am not really sure which day exactly. She is on an important diplomatic mission right now.

Raniv: I see...

Lana: Oh, and Drek, what about you and...!

Kal (interrupting you): Finally Drek! It was about time you showed up for your wedding! Welcome home som!

You see a man in his late 40s showing up behind you. He doesn't really show any similarities with Drek, he is well built and taller. Not to mention he is wearing elegant nobly clothes decorated with shiny jewellery, things Drek has always hated.

Ranvi and Lana: Is he your father?

Drek: Ranvi, Lana, this is my father, Kal Modme, Duke of Naboo. Father, this is Ranvi and Lana Ordo, my friends, whom I have been talking about a lot.

Kal: Of course, I know who they are! Nobody enters my palace without me knowing! That's what the palace guards are for!

Lana: Great, so we were being watched the whole time?

Drek: Don't take it personally, he always orders everybody to be watched who comes into the vicinity of the palace.

Kal: Security measures, they are essential at the social status which we represent! Young ladies, where have I put my manners!

He steps to you and Ranvi, firmly holding and kissing your and Ranvi's hand multiple times.

Kal: Kal Modme, at your service. Should you require anything, feel free to call my servants! The friends of my son must have any luxuries they ever require!

Lana: Thank you Duke Modme...

Kal: Please, call me Kal, we aren't so formal with such close friends of the family! Forgive me, but I must be going, the wedding preparations take a lot of effort to oversee! Drek, I'll want to have a talk with you later today about the details!

Drek: Yes father.

Kal (leaving): Please, enjoy the pleasures of my household, they are all yours to enjoy!

Lana: Drek, your father is a bit overdoing the welcoming, don't you agree?

Ranvi: Definitely, he had kissed my hand like 4 or 5 times...! Who does that...?

Drek: Now that he is gone... My father is a real womanizer... So watch out for any moves from him!

Ranvi and Lana: What...?!

Drek: Yes, well... He certainly takes a marriage only as a formality... I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to seduce either or both of you while you are here...! So stay alert!

Lana: Damn, I better not take my armour off while we are attending the wedding it seems!

Drek: He could be terrible at some times, but he is a good man overall... Only too politically scheming... And he certainly can't resist the women...!

Ranvi: That's enough about him, I suggest we all find our rooms and lock the doors... Twice...!

Lana: Agreed!

HK69: But only after I have seen those trophies!

Drek: Yeah, yeah, I'll arrange for that right away!

After Drek sends HK off with a servant, he asks you to visit one last room before you would go to your rooms. He leads the way inside where you spot a mid sized box on a table.

Lana: What is that?

Drek: That is for Ranvi, a present I am long late to give her, but I had to pull some strings to get it and it took time! But now, here it is!

Ranvi: What's inside?

Drek: Go on and see for yourself!

She walks to it and looks at the box from all directions. There are small holes on the sides, but she can't see into it. She lifts the top of it and sees what was hiding in it! It's a Nexu pup! Just the pet Ranvi has been longing to have one day! She happily lifted him up in the air.

Ranvi: It's a Nexu! The cutest, most adorable little furballs in the entire galaxy! How did you know I have always wanted to have one?

Drek: I have heard you saying it once and I started preparations immediately! Unfortunately, finding a young Nexu without killing instincts is very hard, those that are captured are mostly trained to kill in arenas or gladiatorial games, while in the wilderness, they are deadly predators, so... All in all, here you are, a pet Nexu!

Lana: Drek, I have never imagined you really paying attention to such things! You usually don't even pay attention to the things we want you to remember!

Drek: Hey, that's not true...! At least not entirely...! Maybe when I am fixing my tech gear but... Those occasions don't count!

Lana: Sure they do!

Ranvi: Thank you so much Drek!

She rushes and hugs him quite firmly. None of them says a word and a few seconds of silence happens. Then, Ranvi suddenly distances herself from him, as both of them are blushing.

Ranvi: S, sorry, it was a bit hasty...

Drek: Don't mention it, I am happy that you are happy!

Ranvi: Lana, could we have a moment... in private...?

Lana: Ah, ehm, yes, sure thing, I'll ehm... Check on HK, make sure he isn't already killing the servants!

You leave the room and let the two of them talk, not wanting to ruin anything, you don't even return to see how they are, instead you find your room and take a rest in there.

Lana (thinking): I wonder what those two might be up to now...! I hope it will end well for them both!
