Chapter 5

To the salon!
We did not make the salon.
As the car started, the garage door began to slide open. The expensive automobile had been paired with the garage door when his mother brought it home months ago. Looking into the rearview mirror, DJ’s eyes widened in shock. There was a large SUV blocking the driveway. The door opened and out swung a pair of black suede knee high boots.
As Jackie stepped out of the car, DJ froze and looked her over in the mirror. She had dressed up for the outfit, even if they had been flying. Jackie had a thing about always looking her best, even if it was less convenient. DJ always wondered if that was why she loved heels so much. Over the black knee high boots were a pair of skin tight white jeans.
The worst part of his mother’s outfit was that it ended up almost matching his, with her leopard print jacket and black tank top look.
As the driver pulled her luggage out of the trunk, his mother stood there staring up at the eyes of the person in her car. Her face was a mask of cold fury as she began to stride up the driveway towards the parked car with DJ inside of it. Her heeled boots clicked along the concrete as he swallowed and tried to think of a way out of this. ‘She’s kinda hot… hmmmm, we might have to see how people feel about this.’ PK’s voice broke the dam of fear inside DJ and he turned off the car before stepping out of it.
“Mom! What are you doing here?” The look she shot at him would have sent him running to his room if he could move the tall stilettos he had on. PK had frozen his feet in place.
“I was all set to fly off on vacation with the girls when my phone let me know that someone had entered my room. So I opened up the app for the camera I installed, and saw my son rooting through my lingerie drawer. Deciding not to ruin the entire trip, I told your sister’s to go on ahead and came back to deal with this.” She emphasized the last word by motioning up and down to indicate DJ’s new look. “Let’s go inside and talk so the neighbors don’t see you.”
DJ nodded and tried to walk to the house, a thankful sigh slipped through his lips as his body responded perfectly. Following his mother through the door to the house, he reached up and pressed the button to close the garage as he stepped into the kitchen. Following the path that his mother set out, he walked into the living room just behind her.
Jackie’s anger had taken over her emotions as she paced around the center of the room. “Sit the fuck down.” It was rare for his mother to let anger get to her like this, she was typically a more serene person. It was a major part of what made her an effective lawyer.
Swaying past his mother with a perfectly feminine gait, DJ carefully slid onto the couch and crossed a leg over his knee and gathered his hands in his lap. His nerves began to get to him as his mother just stared at his actions. The silence stretched out between the two and DJ began to bounce a foot in nervousness. Of course this meant that the heavier platform heel with all the metal studs in it slipped partially off of his foot. Catching the dangling heel on his toes, he swung it back and forth delicately.
“Clearly this isn’t your first time doing this.” She motioned to his incredibly feminine mannerisms, perfect makeup, and large prominent breasts. “Care to explain yourself?”
DJ’s mind screamed out for PK. He begged the entity within his mind for help. With a yawn the voice spoke up. ‘How about an ask the audience? That option was always popular on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’
Poll: Which kind of mom are we looking for here?

Promises Kept Universe
The universe is out to make us keep our word, no matter how unlikely.
A wish is a desire for something that is not easily attained. But what if that wish is easily obtained? Then, isn't that wish just an unkept promise?
