Watch Where You Step

Here I am at The Dryden Magical Academy. The most prestigious center of learning for all mages of the kingdom. Wow I can't believe I'm here. I can't wa...what the? I just felt something squish beneath my sandal. I lift my foot and look at the ground. Oh for the love of.... I just stepped in a big pile of dog shit! Oh c'mon man! Really!? I check the sole of my sandal and it's got poop all over it. Aw geeze!

Of all the things to happen. I see a bench over by the outer wall . Good. I'll go sit down and scrape the shit off of my sandal with my dagger. On the way to the bench I scrape my foot on the grass near the cobblestone walkway to the bench. Hopefully some of the doggie doo will rub off on the grass. I wonder who's dog shit on the walkway to the gate. They really need to make a pooper scooper rule. If your dog shits while you're walking it it's your responsibility to clean it up.

I wish there was a spell for cleaning dog shit off of the sole of a shoe. That would be real handy right about now. I make it over to the bench and sit. I take my sandal off careful not to get any of the dog crap on my robe. Ah good. I take out my dagger and ...oh fuck! How am I going to clean my dagger after I scrape off the shit! I ever find the mofo who owns the dog I'm gonna kick him in the scrotum. If it's a woman who owns the mutt I'm going to punch her in the tits.

Wait! There's a trash receptacle over by the iron gate. You know these are an old pair of sandals anyway. I can just throw them out and go barefoot. Yeah that's what I'll do, I'll go barefoot. After all I don't have the time to fuck about scraping shit off of my sandal then cleaning the blade of my dagger.

Problem solved.

With my dagger sheathed I walk over to the trash can. Goodbye sandals. You were a great pair but you were falling apart anyway.

Two large braziers burning an ethereal purple blue flame flank the imposing wrought iron gate. There's a plaque on the wall on the left side of the gate. It says: This gate is open between the hours of 8 AM till 5 PM. After 5 PM please press the button under this plaque if you need to enter.

Mindful of where I'm stepping I enter the gate.
