Walk the Delivery.

Lydia did not have the cash to spare to get a ride and had seen enough horror films to know that looking in a package was always a mistake. She decided to suck it up and walk it over. Jobs will only get more difficult, and the exercise will do her good.

She shifted how she held the bag every block so that no part of her would be insufferably sore when she was finished. The world she walked through continued to freak her out; she always seemed to notice something she had never had before. Hints of magic, even if they were subtle, were always there. Keeping her head down, she moved through the city, trying not to draw any more attention than her outfit usually drew.

It had taken over an hour of walking through the city traffic to get to the apartment complex listed on the posting paper. Her hair was a bit of a mess, and her arms were tired. Getting into the elevator, she rested the package on the floor as it rose. It was almost a struggle to pick it up again as she arrived.

When she reached the listed unit number, she knocked on the door. A few moments later, when it opened, Lydia saw a red-skinned fiend eying her up.

“Well hello there. It seems I got the package I ordered, plus another I’d love to unwrap. Want to come in and see what you brought me?” He asked, appropriately sporting a devilish grin on his handsome features.
