Chapter 235 by voidcaller17 voidcaller17

Now What?

Waking Up

I open my eyes and see a thatched roof and wooden wall. I slowly sit up and see I'm on a modern bed, which after seeing the Dryads in modern clothes doesn't surprise me. I look around the room and see a wardrobe and fireplace with a metal pot on it. I see a table with two chairs and some drawers and desks. I try to sit up but feel my head throb. I sit back down and put my palm to my forehead. I decide to try Healing Hands, to see if that'll do anything. I sigh in relief when I feel the pain go away, despite not getting a notification for the amount healed since I'm at max HP. I open my notifications, excited to see what my Soul-Skill is.

New Skill: Visit Prisma Lvl 1 (MAX)

This skill allows you to visit Prisma. Time flows differently while doing this, one second here is one hour while visiting. Feel free to take advantage of this however you want. MP Cost: 1

New Soul-Skill: Mana Fusion Lvl 1, Passive

Mana Fusion allows you to take or give mana. You can use it to take mana from others and make it yours or give your own to someone else. You can also act as a bridge and fuse mana from one person to another, without giving or taking any yourself. Both sides must consent to the fusion. The mana given fuses with the receiver, making it their own. You can also go over your maximum MP with this, however, the extra mana will slowly fade. Overcharging too much will cause the recipient to Mana Surge.

Not what I was expecting, or hoping for. But this could still be useful. We'll just have to see. I think before standing up. I walk over to the door and open it. Outside is another village, like I saw before we entered the cave. But this one isn't destroyed. I look around and see more houses that are still intact. I jump when someone pokes my back. I turn and see Ayashi behind me. She's smiling and giggling.

"Good morning, I'm glad to see you're so energetic." She says.

"Yeah, so where are we? I thought the village was destroyed." I ask.

"No, what you saw before is where the Queen and the guards to the Primal Source lived. This is where most of the Mythos lived." She answers and I nod. "So, getting to the point, why did you not become a full Mythos?" She asks and I decide to keep it a secret that I talked with Prisma.

"It's fuzzy, but I remember hearing a voice. It sounded frustrated and said that my Devil side was interfering. It muttered something about the Demon God too." I say sticking to the plan Prisma told me. Ayashi seems to think it over.

"Does being a Devil connect you to the Demon God?" She asks and I nod.

"Yes, but I can only have one connection with a god at a time." I answer and she snaps her finger.

"It's probably because of that then. When you become a true Mythos I imagine that the connection with Gaia will be broken, for only a moment. The Demon Gods connection must interfere with that." She says and I nod.

"So if I killed the Demon God could I drink the water again?" I ask and she nods.

"Yeah, but killing a God is no easy feat."

"I know, but I've already picked a fight with him, so even if I wanted to, there's no way out." I say and she looks at me apologetically and a little sad.

"Sorry, but I can't help with that fight. All Gods and Goddesses keep an eye on one another, so if I intervene they'll discover me. They don't know about Mythos or me, and it would complicate things if they do." She says and I nod.

"It's fine, besides I'm the one who picked this fight. So, no offense, but having you fight it for me wouldn't sit well." I say and she chuckles.

"Men and their pride." She says and I laugh.

"We are pretty stubborn." I say. If I'm going to find a way to get her to stop this takeover of hers, I'll need to get close to her. I think before checking the time. I see it's a little past six.

"I am impressed though." Ayashi says. "I didn't expect you to wake up so soon, no offense. So, did you get your Soul-Skill?"

"Yeah, but I'm not too sure how useful it'll be. It's called Mana Fusion. It allows me to take mana from myself or another, and fuse it into a recipient. The mana then becomes theirs. But both sides must consent to it." I say and Ayashi looks at me amazed.

"That's an amazing skill!" She says and I look at her confused and she explains. "How do I put this... So there's another skill called Mana Transfer that's similar. It requires permission, but can't overcharge, and the mana sent to the receiver stays as the senders. So being able to make it your own is amazing. That's amazing because you can't hold magic that isn't your own. So the transferred mana would fade away quickly. Not to mention the fact that most high-end spells hard require your mana, not someone else." She explains and gets an idea. "Do you want to test it? I don't want you surging so I'd like you to spend some now. But then you can take some of mine." She says smiling.

"Sure, now what spell to use." I think aloud and smile, deciding to test a new skill.

What Skill?
