Wake with Layla

Birds.

Ethan wakes to the chirping of birds.

For a moment, he doesn't know where he is but senses somebody in the bed with him. Opening his eyes, it all comes rushing back.

Layla.

She's next to him, her eyes closed, still sound asleep. The sight of her makes Ethan take a breath, one louder than he intended, causing her eyes to flutter open.

She looks at him, her eyes bright blue and gleaming. "Ethan..." she smiles, "Good morning."

"Good morning."

After a bit of bedroom small talk, Layla gets up, deciding both of them need a shower. Ethan almost suggests they shower together, but Layla proposes she shower first, justifying it by saying "She'll need more time to get herself together."

Ethan's shower runs longer, but he tries to keep it concise. While the water beats down on him, he reflects on his life choices. A lot has happened the past couple of weeks, and now this...

Getting out of the shower, he gets dressed in his clothes from yesterday, now clean and dry, before heading downstairs
