Wake up

As morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, I slowly opened my eyes and found myself lying next to my naked sister. The events of the previous night came rushing back, and I felt a mix of excitement and guilt over having used the ring's power on her. I glanced at her peaceful sleeping face, her curly red hair splayed across the pillow, and couldn't help but appreciate her beauty.

I carefully slipped out of bed, trying not to disturb my sister, and went about my morning routine. As I headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, I heard the sound of the shower running, signaling that my sister was awake. I decided to make enough breakfast for the both of us.

Soon enough, my sister emerged from the bathroom, dressed in one of my robes, her curly red hair wrapped in a towel. "Thanks for letting me sleep in your bed," she said gratefully. "I feel so much more rested than I would have on that pull-out sofa."

As we sat down to enjoy our breakfast, I decided to steer the conversation towards my sister's travel plans.

"So, what time is your flight today?" I asked, taking a bite of my toast.

"It's not until late afternoon, around 5 pm," she replied, sipping her coffee. "I've got plenty of time to pack and get to the airport without feeling rushed."

"That's good," I said, nodding. "Do you have any plans when you get back home?"

She shrugged. "Not really, I'll probably just catch up on some rest, and then get back into my usual routine. Work, gym, and spending time with friends, you know how it is."

I smiled, knowing how much she enjoyed her busy social life.

I felt a surge of pride and love for my sister, as well as a pang of guilt for having used the ring on her.

Eventually, it was time for her to start packing and preparing for her trip. As she left the table, I couldn't help but feel a sense of loss, knowing that our time together was coming to an end.

After my sister disappeared into her room to start packing, I found myself alone with my thoughts once again. The morning's conversation had only served to heighten the turmoil within me. A part of me wanted to use the ring to keep her around longer or to ensure that she always remained close to me. But another part of me, the part that loved and respected her as a person, balked at the idea of manipulating her in such a way.

As I stood in the kitchen, lost in contemplation, I couldn't help but glance at the ring on my finger. Its metallic surface seemed to mock me, daring me to use its power once more.

I considered suggesting that she postpone her trip, or even that she move in with me permanently. The thought of having her around, sharing our lives as we had in our youth, was incredibly appealing. Yet, I couldn't shake the feeling that using the ring on her again would be a betrayal of the trust and love that we shared.

Just as I was about to make up my mind, my sister emerged from her room, her bags packed and a smile on her face. "All set and ready to go," she announced, her eyes shining with excitement. "But before I head out, there's something I wanted to talk to you about."

I looked at her, my heart pounding in my chest. What could she possibly have to say that would warrant such a serious tone? Could she somehow know about the ring and its power?

As she took a deep breath, preparing to speak, I felt the words forming on my lips, the ring's influence begging to be unleashed. In that moment, standing on the precipice of a decision that could change both our lives forever, I hesitated. Would I use the ring on my sister again, or would I let her speak her mind, free of any manipulation?
