Chapter 7 by Raveena Raveena

Does John try to drape it himself or does he wait until Lauren gets home?

Waits for Lauren

John shook his head to clear it and put the bag in their closet. It could certainly wait; besides, he had gotten it as a gift for Lauren, so why should he mess with it? It may have been cute/made her laugh, but it seemed like more effort than it was worth. Instead, he walked downstairs and began preparing dinner for when she got home.

After what felt like hours, John heard Lauren's key begin to turn in the door. "John, I'm home . . . finally," She called out as she walked in. The door slammed shut. "You would not believe the day I had. The sales managers were slacking and promising extra stuff to our clients and I had to . . . ugh, never mind, I just want to not think about it for a bit." He heard her set her purse down and the tell-tale clicks of her heels as she walked into the kitchen. A few seconds later, he felt her hug him from behind, while he fixated on the food in the pain.

"That looks delicious--and it's not the only thing," John felt her pinch his butt and chuckled.

"Really? What else could you be hungry for, after such a stressful day, I wonder?"

"Oh, I'm not sure, I'm so hungry I could take it all. Take. It. All." He felt her hot breath on the back of his neck and after a second, they both started giggling.

"Okay, I'll see if I can get some . . . dessert ready. Meantime, how about you get changed and we can eat?" He turned to her and grinned. "And 'dessert' isn't the only surprise I have waiting for you."

"You got me something?" She gapped. "You tease! You just had to say something, didn't you?"

"Yep. And no telling until after you have finished your dinner." He took a stern tone while she flipped him off.

An hour or two later, after a filling meal and some even more fulfilling making out, John led Lauren up to the bedroom.

"Of course you'd hide the surprise here, you horn dog," she grinned. She had slipped out of her skirt suit and had opted for a comfy long sleeve shirt and pajama shorts, after being stuck in heels all day.

"Hey, no peeking! Cover your eyes." John pouted. Lauren rolled her eyes but complied anyway, to humour him. John then dashed to the closet and took out the bag. He set it down on the bed and drew the sari out of it. "Okay, you can look now."

Lauren took her hands off her eyes and gasped as she recognized it. "That is so beautiful!" She gingerly reached out and stroked the material. "Where did you get it?"

"I was at the mall today and I came across it one of the stores--it was a costume place I hadn't seen before, but hey, it's June--so close enough to Halloween for marketing." He chuckled. "But yeah, you've been talking about wanting us to go to India since forever, and I figured why not get ready ahead of time?"

Lauren hugged him. "Thank you, you are so sweet!" For some reason, the costume store bit struck something in her memory, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She ignored the thought and focused on the fabric. "They even included the petticoat and blouse too, and some pins. That helps a lot."

"You know, for a Latina, you're a pretty big Indio-phile," John teased. "I didn't know half those terms."

"And why would you? Unless you have a bit of a feminine side I don't know about." She teased right back.

John didn't take the bait but she thought she saw a weird look on his face, but a second later, it was gone. "So, do you want to try it on now, or would you rather get a second helping of 'dessert?'" John grinned.

Does Lauren put it on now or do they fool around a bit first?
