Chapter 4 by pablocho pablocho

What will Lily learn first?

Waitress duties

After having Lily get ready the two goblins walked back onto the tavern. The barkeep, a tall and wide orc gentleman looked them over and gave a warm smile before nodding, all the while cleaning a mug with an old piece of cloth. Trucy returned the smile before guiding Lily to one of the tables that seemed to still have costumers on.

Although the place was quite empty by now a few drunken dwarves remained inside getting a few last drinks before either calling it a night or passing out. A group had gathered on a table at the corner and seeing the opportunity for some high pressure learning Trucy happily walked towards them while holding her companion's hand. When they were a few steps away the experienced barmaid grabbed the other one's shoulders and looked into her eyes.

"Alright, so first thing's first you are going to take their order." As she spoke Trucy pulled out a small notepad and handed it over to Lily.

"W- What?"

"Take their order. Ask them what they'd like and write it down so you don't forget."

By this point Lily looked over at the table. The four dwarves were speaking to each other, the cacophony of their voices making it clear they hadn't seen the goblins yet. A chill ran down the young girl's back and she gulped heavily. "I... I don't know if I can do this."

"Of course you can. You just walk up and ask for their orders." Trucy smiled and motioned over to the table. "I'll be right here in case you need any help."

With shaky legs Lily took a deep breath and wandered closer to the table. Looking between the heavily bearded men she tried to speak but nothing came out of her mouth. She tried a few other times, but the loud noise of their conversation drowned anything she attempted to say. After a few minutes one of the men noticed her and banged his fist against the table.

"Lads, lads, lads. Seems the service finally got 'ere. You, lassie, you gettin’ our order?" The dwarven man had a thick red beard and his head was completely bald. He spoke with a heavy accent and seemed to have managed to quiet the others.

"Y- Yes. What would you all want.... sirs?"

The dwarves smiled at each other and began speaking all at once creating a mess of noise once more. Eventually the table was hit once more, and the bald dwarf spoke again. "Just bring us the strongest shit this place has lassie. Don't worry about makin’ multiple trips though. We wouldn’t you leavin’ and comin’ back" As he said the last part the table devolved into laughter and howling as the men began speaking in the dwarven tongue.

"Got it... Anything else?" Lily was a little confused at what was going on, but decided to press on, deciding she could do it.

The closest dwarf to Lily, a gruffy looking guy with an eyepatch and black hair braided on his back, reached a hand forward and grabbed onto Lily's rear. The touch made the goblin yelp and take a step back. The men laugh once more at the reaction before the black-haired dwarf spoke. "We would love to have you too lassie. Ne'er seen ya 'ere before."

"Um..."

"Alright fellas, that's enough." Trucy walked forward placing herself between the table and Lily. "She is just starting, don't go around and scare her away." The table devolved into booing as Trucy took Lily's hand and lead her to the bar. "Not the worst thing I've seen. You do need to make sure they listen to you tough. Else you waste too much time for both you and the clients. Other than that, you did good"

"S- Sorry... I just... couldn't." The younger goblin seemed disappointed, and her face had a light blush painting her over. "But that last bit..."

"Yeah... some clients are like that sometimes. Don't worry about it." Trucy sighed realizing it was probably her fault they were all so straight forward. "Just tell them you aren't on the menu and they should leave you alone. Although if you play flirty with them it can give you a nice tip."

"What?"

"Yeah, just smile and giggle at their comments. Wink from time to time and call them handsome or cute." Trucy looked at her and winked. "If you really want the best tips though, it takes a little more courage. You might not be ready for it."

What's Lily's response?
