Chapter 9 by TheBlinded TheBlinded

What to do now?

Wait to use the remote until they meet up with Yang

After what felt like ages, Ruby’s phone alarm told her it was time to meet up with Yang for dinner. Ruby, Blake, and Weiss left together and Ruby managed to control the urge to start swapping things. Seriously, it was difficult and she wanted to try it out. It was only because of hunger and knowing she had team responsibilities that she put off using it. The three of them grabbed their food and sat down. Yang joined them a few moments later.

“What’s up!?” Yang asked, plopping down next to Blake.

“”You will never believe this,” Blake told her and Weiss’s cheeks gained a slight shade of pink.

“Oh?” Her expression wasn’t lost on Yang. “What did the Ice Queen do?”

“Nothing important,” Weiss huffed.

“You might as well tell her,” Ruby suggested. “Yang will keep bothering you until you do. Trust me, she never grows tired of pestering.”

“Aww, I taught my baby sis so well,” Yang teased. “I still remember that one time you accidently wet the bed and tried to hide the evidence by throwing the sheets out the window.”

“YANG!” Ruby cried out mortified.

“Couldn’t resist, sis.” Yang laughed and turned to Blake. “So what’s the big news?”

Let’s see how you like being the younger sister, Ruby thought vindictively. She wasn’t usually a person who sought out ****. This time was special. The remote gave her a perfect opportunity. Her finger fell on the Personal Info Swap option.

“Jaune came over today,” Blake explained.

“Ah.” Yang paused and looked at Weiss. “You didn’t make him cry, did you?” There was a flash of green light no one noticed except for Ruby. Yang’s hair became noticeably shorter, she lost a couple inches in height, and her chest shrunk slightly.

She had become eighteen years old.

“Of course not,” Weiss replied indignantly. “I was nice.”

“Your version of nice usually involves them not being frozen solid,” Yang shot back.

“Well, he wasn’t frozen,” Blake informed her. “But he might have been crying tears of joy.”

“Huh?” Yang was visible confused.

Meanwhile, Ruby was trying very hard to hold in her laughter. **** was served when Ruby swapped their ages. To everyone else, Yang was fifteen and Ruby was seventeen. Yang’s current appearance was exactly like Ruby remembered two years ago. Her clothes stayed the same but shrunk slightly to accommodate her new figure. Ruby, on the other hand, grew taller, her chest expanded, and her hair style changed. It grew slightly longer, but still remained short, like she preferred. Her clothes also adjusted to fit her new frame.

Can’t wait for everyone to treat me like an equal. I’m so tired of people seeing me as a kid. Ruby could barely contain her excitement until her thoughts were interrupted by Yang’s cry.

“You said yes!”

“Keep it down,” Weiss hissed angrily. “I only said it so that he would realize we are incompatible and leave me alone.”

“Don’t kid yourself,” Yang whispered excitedly. “Pyrrha likes him, so there has to be something special about Vomit Boy. Try to find it out.”

“Why are you so interested?” Blake asked.

“Probably because Ruby doesn’t let Yang date,” Weiss mocked and Ruby flinched in her seat.

“I’ve been on dates,” Yang retorted.

“Only because dad was watching you,” Ruby answered and her mind suddenly saw in image in her head of herself and her dad spying on Yang’s first date.

“I knew you were spying!” Yang accused. “I told you I was old enough to make my own decisions. I even got into Beacon two years early.”

That statement confirmed Ruby’s suspicion that this world had changed. Images and information kept flashing through her mind, causing some confusion. A lot of stuff was different. Ruby had taken care of Yang instead of the other way around. She actually managed to have a couple dates without Yang causing the boys to flee. The biggest difference was how they got into Beacon. Ruby had taken the normal route and applied, while Yang was the one to stop Roman Torchwick. Both of their personalities were still pretty much the same. Yang was a party girl and Ruby was more reserved and awkward.

“That’s the right of an older sister,” Ruby retorted, causing Weiss and Blake to snicker.
