Test the earrings now?
Wait for a better opportunity .
Thinking better of the situation Jason removed his hand from his pocket and turned away.
"Ill go find us some seats" he muttered, shuffling into the rows of seats that were starting to be populated by parents and students.
Stacy allowed herself a smirk briefly as she got herself the coffee she was after, took a sip and followed him to their seats. She sat down next to Jason, crossed her legs at the thigh and took another sip.
"Do you have any idea how long this will take?" She asked as she flicked her hand out to look at her watch.
"Usually only about ten minutes for the opening speeches, then the evening takes a good hour or two" Jason assumed. "The Principal loves to drone on with these speeches, I think she wanted to be a politician, not a teacher judging by how much she makes us sit through these... In fact forget the ten minutes, get comfortable"
Stacy sighed heavily and wiggled her ass into the cheap plastic chair making her skirt ride up a bit more, Jason couldn't help himself but look out of the corner of his eye. People sat down next to him, a slightly overweight mother taking up the chair directly to his left. It seemed like all of the seats had been taken just as the scheduled time of the event was due to start. His eyes shifted from Stacy's legs to the figure walking across the stage, Mrs Castle, the principal. She was a tall woman with olive skin, dark hair and a green velvet suit. Jason's eyes shifted to her legs as she walked, dark nylons encased them, disappearing under her knee length skirt, her calves were rounder than Stacy's, but still nice to look at. Her body moved behind the podium as she cleared her throat to speak, her tapping the microphone brought the halls constant murmur to a quick silence.
"Thank you. Thank you." She started with a big smile on her face taking in her captive audience. "I just want to start by welcoming you all to this years Final Teacher Parent evening where we see off our greatest and brightest for the world that awaits them..."
Jason leaned back in his chair, as much as he usually hated her speeches, this time her droning on was the only thing standing between him and an evening getting torn apart by Miss Hudson. His hands went to his pocket again. They were still there. It was starting to feel maddening that he was even contemplating them working as he thought they would. He looked to his right, saw Stacy take another sip of coffee, but otherwise look bored. He took the earrings out of his pocket and looked at them. Stacy also looked over to see what he was holding, seeing them she scoffed and went back to listening to Mrs Castle.
Maybe he should test them first, he thought to himself, but how he wondered. This did seem like a good time and place, to test what is normal or not. Then he realised, both earrings do different things. The right made everything normal and the left made your statements make things normal, or was it the other way round? He couldn't remember.
"I guess that's what the testing is for" he whispered under his breath.
How does he test this?

Normality
Don't mind the fucking, nothing to see here
Once upon a time, on a bet and while very very drunk, a higher power of some kind made a very special item.
