Wait And See How This Plays Out.

You crouch down a bit lower and squint to make out details of the battle below. You came here to complete a job, not get roped into a fire fight. Even from your high vantage the sound of projectile fire rings in your ears. If not for implants from your private army days you'd likely have ringing in your ears for days after this.

The fire fight is brief but brutal. The crew from the box vehicle seem to have an almost unlimited amount of bullets and they're firing them off like fire hoses dosing a blaze. Ms. Velvet's team, on the other hand, is much more surgical and precise. They take turns drawing fire so another person or pair can get time for a clear shot. Even the boss lady herself gets involved, taking down a pair of attackers with a large pistol. There are casualties on both sides but once about half of the more motley crew is dead the remaining gangsters start to flee. Maintaining their discipline, Velvet's people don't miss a beat and start running them down and finishing the job.

After the dust settles they don't waste time. They tend to their wounded while Ms. Velvet barks orders you can't make out. A pair of her soldiers opens up the back of the box and she stands behind it for a bit, hands on her hips. You wait and eventually see a group of people in shoddy skintight jumpsuits pour out of the vehicle. They look nervous even from this distance but walk without being **** into Ms. Velvet's vehicle. After some tending to the wounded and the people, probably slaves, from the other vehicle everyone piles into Ms. Velvet's vehicle and they start heading out.

Tailing them isn't easy. You're fast and you can run for a long while but you aren't a machine. The sole saving grace is the destroyed nature of the wastes. While they need to take serpentine routes to avoid mounds of rough ground, impact craters, and piles of scrap, you can move in a much more direct path. So it is that you beat them to a little building not far from town. The short, squat building is so tiny that you can only imagine there's more of it below the surface. You watch the vehicle pull into a bay and spot several guards, some at posts around the building, others hiding in the debris field, watching their progress. Once they disappear into the structure you stick around to watch the guard patrols and look at the building from every angle before heading back into town.

Now that you know where Ms. Velvet keeps her less public friendly business interests you can prepare and break in at your leisure. That means a trip back to the Ratchet's. Tonight is going to be interesting.
