In the cold dank basement of their hab block the four women recited heretical incantations around the glowing circle drawn with illegal high grade wyrding chalk that would land all four of them with a sentence of death if they were lucky, or if they were lucky, a lifetime sentence to the abusement park. They did not care. The Thearch and his seraphim had taken everything from them.

The Thearchy had ruled their planet for longer than anyone could remember. The official histories say that the people welcomed the Emissaries of The Divine, but the ruined cities and stories passed down in secret songs tell a different story. In that story, the Thearch's armies destroyed their temples, raped their celebrities and nobles, abolished elections, and forced everyone to worship The Thearch as their Divine Master and the word of His Prelates absolute. Those who defied the will of The Thearch would find themselves crushed under the armored boots of His seraphim super soldiers.
The people were sorted into different stations and castes, all of whom stood below the outworlders and holy seraphim who came to amuse themselves at the expense of the local people. Those who resisted or displeased their betters found their quotas raised and their rations lowered.

Virginia had been given The Book by her great grandmother before the old woman was taken away to the Judgement and Repurposing Pods. It had sat gathering dust for ages until one evening her daughter Madison's friend Alana found the book and recognized it for what it was. The eighteen year old girl was able to translate the arcane runes and decipher how to perform powerful sorcery that had been banned on their world since their world was consecrated in the name of The Thearch.

Virginia, Madison, and Alana had fought about what to do about the book. Their heated argument ended when they realized that they could not get rid of the daemonic grimoire without being tortured and burned a witches, and if they were going to have the magic book, they might as well use the magic book.

Despite the knowledge that getting caught using magic would get them killed, all three ladies found themselves making liberal use of their charms and enchantments to meet their quotas. The men and women who came to their living cells found themselves leaving feeling satisfied beyond measure, coming to an ecstatic conclusion at a quickness the witches found most pleasurable. With their clients who were of sufficient caste to have privacy, what used to be painful and violent sessions ended with a magic word that rendered such sadistic brutes unconscious only to wake with memories of how much they enjoyed themselves at the expense of the low caste whores they were entitled to use and abuse as they wished.

Leah being assigned to their cell block changed everything. The woman had been married to some mid caste shift foreman who gotten a new job off world that came with a new wife. Next thing Leah knew her kids were taken away from her to be raised by the priests in a rectory orphanage as she was being loaded into a cargo flyer like a piece of meat and was taken to a dingy breeding farm where she was expected to meet her impregnation quotas or suffer summary botification.
Leah was an intelligent, opinionated, well-educated, quirky, young woman who found life as a breeding sow difficult to adjust to. When the woman recognized a healing word Alana had used on her when treating her injuries at the hand of a vicious little excuse of a deacon and begged the witch to induct her into her coven.

With a fourth member of their coven, the witches would be able to attempt the summoning of a daemon prince from the realm of the true gods. A being of unimaginable power and armies of daemons and rebel seraphim to crush their enemies. It was extremely risky, the witches were putting their souls on the open market in hopes of attracting the attention of such a formidable and potent being with the full knowledge that they could find their souls bound to just about anything from the depth of the warping nether. the four women gladly were willing to take the risk and pay the price as they called out to the umbral depths for a champion to free their world from the thearch's tyranny.
