Chapter 13
by Rabidwolf
Who's at the door? Does Lisa shoot? And will she remember what she has forgotten?
Virgil.
"Virgil!" Alma screamed as she saw who had opened the door.
Due to her position in the room, Lisa's view of the person was blocked by the door. The name that Alma called out registered in Lisa's mind. Virgil. Alma's son. Lisa relaxed a little and didn't pull the trigger of her colt, however she also kept it pointed at the doorway.
Virgil pushed the door fully open. Lisa saw a young man maybe 19 years old. He was a little taller than his mom, but was very thin. He has short scruffy brown hair and a sparse layer of hair on his chin and upper lip. He was wearing a brown shirt and black pants. Lisa saw that he was unarmed.
There was a moments pause as everyone remained still and quiet. The calm was broken by the sound of liquid splashing on the wooden floor. Lisa and Virgil looked over at an embarrassed Alma. A puddle was growing at her feet and pee was falling between her legs under her skirt.
"I'm terribly sorry." Alma apologized. "I'll get this cleaned up soonest."
Alma left the room with tears in her eyes. As Alma passed her son, Lisa saw Virgil give Alma's ass a squeeze.
Lisa holstered her colt with a florish.
"Wow!" Virgil exclaimed. "You must be the gunfighter who arrived in town today."
"I'm not a gunfighter." Lisa corrected.
"The talk is that you took down Jack Bryant and the Hawkins boys."
"Fuck!" Lisa exclaimed remembering the trussed up survivor of her earlier gunfight. "Is there a doc in this town?"
"Yeah. Burt Monroe but I wouldn't trust him to treat more than a cold." Virgil answered.
"Thats ok." Lisa said. "I need you to take the doc out to the west end of town and recover a wounded man."
"Ok." Virgil said turning to leave.
"Don't you want paying?" asked Lisa.
"Nah." Virgil answered "I figure my moms overcharging you already."
"Thanks, Virgil." said Lisa gratefully.
"You can thank me by bringing down the Black Lynchers." Virgil said and then he left to find Burt Monroe.
Lisa sighed and watched Virgil leave. She then turned her attention to unpacking her bags.
What's next for Lisa?
