Victoria finds out… day before surgery

Victoria Adkins’ eyes widened as she saw a -10,000 dollars on her credit account. That couldn’t be right… she dialed her bank’s phone number and waited to speak to a real person. “Hello? Yes, I’m calling about a credit card charge… yes I want to report it as fraud,” Victoria said. “I certainly didn’t spend 10k once this entire week.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Adkins, but the charge is legitimate. It has your signature,” the banker said.

“What do you mean it’s legitimate?” Victoria asked. “How does it have my signature?”

“Well, it seems that the fund is coming from a joint card, but the charge is legitimate,” the banker said. “We got a call about it earlier this week. About a college graduation present. Maybe ask one of your daughters about it.”

Victoria’s jaw locked. “I will, don’t you worry, but can I ask… what is the charge for?”

“It was charged at the Winston Cosmetic Surgery. Based on the charge, I can tell you it’s most likely for a breast augmentation,” the banker said.

Victoria raised an eyebrow, her eyes narrowed. She knew Vanessa had surgery a few years ago, but there was no way she would have gotten a second boob job which narrowed the option to only one person. “Thank you for the information and your cooperation. I think I understand the situation… can you give me the phone number to this Winston Cosmetic Surgery?”

“Right away,” the banker said.

Victoria hung up and immediately began to dial the phone number provided… if Lauren really wanted to get a boob job, Victoria would happily arrange it… “Yes, this is Lauren’s mother speaking. I’d like to make a modification on the surgery order… Lauren changed her mind on the kind of… adjustment she wants to make.”
