Valentine Special
I stepped into the arena. Standing not ten feet away was the mysterious young warrior I had seen earlier.
Glaze's brow furrowed, "Something tells me this girl won't be a pushover."
"Well," Tank said with a smile, "I'm sure Felix'll do just fine!"
I just shrugged.
The woman's gaze turned onto me, her eyes narrowing as she analysed me. I took a hesitant step forward.
"You're the girl from earlier," I said.
The woman nodded, "My name's Dana Valentine."
Then, without a word, Valentine positioned herself into ready position, clutching the scythe steadily. She entered her cloak and the flying cloak made a charge at me. I leapt back as a nervous reaction, nearby tripping over myself.
Valentine's cloak seemed to fly at me with amazing speed. Before I knew it, her body emerged and I was hurtling across the arena, my chest stinging with the pain by having been struck by the butt of Valentine's scythe.
I hit the ground. I attempted to rise to my feet. Valentine watched me from across the arena.
I tried opening a portal behind Valentine but she turned round and swung her scythe swiftly, I just barely managed to dodge by jumping out of the way. The blade still managed to scratch my jacket.
"I watched you from the benches. If you keep using the same moves, your opponent will catch on," she said.
Valentine came at me for another swing. I opened a portal in front of the scythe, causing Valentine to get it stuck in there. I tried to take the opportunity to attack but she kicked me away.
Once the warrior had unstuck her scythe, she swung it vertically downwards with such power. I dodged the move in a roll. Valentine lifted her weapon from the ground and turned slowly to look at me. She threw the scythe into the air and pulled out two handguns, shooting me with both of them.
I fell onto my back and couldn't get up. I had lost. I had completely lost to Dana Valentine.
Valentine stared down at me at a moment. She slowly pointed her gun at me. I looked back up at Valentine.
"What're you doing?" I asked.
Valentine merely shook her, "Duty calls."
It was only then that Chiron, who had been watching in silence the whole time, started to run to the arena.
Then Valentine lowered her weapon to the ground. Slowly, she backed away from me.
"Get out while you can," Valentine said.
Another figure appeared, "Turning away from a contract, Valentine? After everything we've been through?"
I recognised her. It was that woman who gave me the ticket earlier.
"Hera," Valentine acknowledged, "You can do your dirty work yourself."
"You pathetic excuse for a warrior! You'll never redeem your past, you know that?!"
The yellow eyed woman narrowed her eyes before quickly shadows opened a portal where a large black paw emerged.
