Update on Schedule

Disclaimer: In case it's not clear from the chapter title, this is not the next chapter of the story. This is just an update I wanted to make for readers to know what's going on. If that's not something that interests you, feel free to stop reading here.

Hello. It's me. Cove. The guy responsible for writing this story. I hope all of you are doing well. As I'm sure some of you have noticed (especially if you've been following my work for a while now), my posting schedule has been much more inconsistent than usual these past few weeks. I hate the idea of not being transparent with the people who care enough to read my stuff, so I wanted to explain a bit about what has been going on.

To put things as simply as possible: there have been some changes in my life recently. Nothing overly bad, mind you. I should probably make that clear before people start to worry. It's just different. Because of that, I've been a lot busier with real life, which has made it much more difficult to write. It also doesn't help that my new schedule has left me a lot more tired than I used to be, meaning that even when I do have free time, it can be hard to motivate myself to write.

Now, I could just try to push through it and keep a consistent upload schedule despite everything, but I don't think that's really fair for anyone. I don't ever want to rush through things or **** myself to work when I'm not in the mood for it, since I know the quality of the writing will suffer for it. Some people might argue that something is better than nothing, but I like to think most of you understand where I'm coming from.

However, I don't want to make it seem like I'm quitting forever of something like that. I just need a bit of a break to get used to my new normal. I'm not sure how long that will take, but I do feel pretty confident that it needs to happen before I feel comfortable devoting so much time to a hobby. And even when I do manage to achieve a better balance, it's very possible my output won't go back to the daily/near-daily schedule I used to have. As with many people who write stories here for free, this is unfortunately the easiest thing to cut back on when things start to get hectic. Of course, I wish it didn't have to be this way, but here we are.

I apologize if this came across as a bit of a downer. I really didn't mean for it to be. Man, Luck would probably hate hearing me talk like this, wouldn't she? Anyway, I just didn't want to slow down my production this much without letting you all know why it's happening. After all the support so many of you have given me, I feel like I at least owe you that much.

Alright, that's all I have to say. As always, you're welcome to let me know your thoughts on anything I've said here or on the story overall. I'm not sure when the next real chapter will come out, but I hope you all will enjoy it when it does eventually get here. I have a lot more exciting plans for Kyle and Luck that I really am looking forward to. Hopefully I will see you when we get there.
