Chapter 52

You both need to rest a little...
Unfortunately, your need for rest is being ignored by one who have been stalking you...
Suddenly, at the periphery of your vision, something moves in the bushes.
The crack of breaking branches...
You are barely starting to turn in this direction...
But you can't make it in time...
A large silhouette jumps out of the bushes with lightning speed.
Silhouette collides with Oolok. The half-orc barely had time to grab his sword from its sheath. You hear a powerful impact sound and a grinding sound (as if something sharp was trying to pierce the iron chain mail). Due to the powerful blow, the half-orc's body was thrown three meters to the right side of a large oak tree (somewhere into the burdock bushes). The half-orc's bag is thrown onto the grass not far from your feet.
You look with fear...
Near the oak tree rises a large, fur-covered silhouette more than three meters high.
This... creature turns to you.
You see bared large fangs, a wolf-like muzzle, powerful muscular, fur-covered arms with sharp large dagger-shaped claws.
This look of a wild beast is familiar to you. You saw this during the sea battle with pirates....
This is the werewolf form. This is Franz.
The only difference is that on the large neck of the werewolf hangs a strange amulet, emitting a faint purple glow, on a bronze-colored chain.
Werewolf approaches you... The huge body of the beast, which casts an appropriately sized shadow, instills in you a feeling of your insignificance...
Your heart shrinks with fear...
Gradually, the body of the werewolf begins to undergo metamorphosis...
Soon you see your old acquaintance standing in front of you.
Franz.
A stocky, muscular, black-haired human man.
He's completely naked.
Involuntarily your gaze glides over his body: you see abundant hair in the groin area, a large dick and large balls, a hairy chest and muscular arms.
Franz still wears a strange amulet on a bronze-colored chain, emitting a faint purple glow, around his neck.
You mumble pathetically: “What?! What are you doing, Franz?!”
His gaze expresses unshakable determination, he says in a peremptory tone: “I will ensure your return to the castle, Jerome! You will return there. Whether you want it or not."
Your voice, trembling with fear, says: “I am in danger! My elven relatives want me harm! Please…don’t make me come back!”
Franz replies: “Don’t **** me to use ****... I will still return you to the castle, Jerome. This is too important for me... I’ve been walking towards this goal for too long... My life depends on it...”
Awareness of the situation arises in your mind: “You... Have you been secretly working for my elven relatives from the very beginning of my journey?!”
Franz nods and says: “Yes, that’s true. Our meeting at Arlen’s pub was not accidental. My secret mission was to protect you and ensure your delivery to castle of Hyureeno. Useful enchanted things like your dagger and amulet are not sufficient tools to determine your location and ensure your delivery to the right place... You needed someone to accompany you and guide you where you need to go... And that person was me. I have been working for the Hyureeno elf family as a secret agent for many years. The reason is not gold. The reason is that only they can help me achieve my life's goal. I want to stop being a monster. Werewolf... A vile, bloodthirsty monster... In a fit of bloody lycanthropic madness, I killed many... Including people who were very dear to my heart died this way... The lycanthropic curse is something that is extremely difficult to eliminate. Only primitive superstitions say that it is enough to kill the one from whom the curse was received. In fact, everything is more complicated - removing a lycanthropic curse is a complex magical ritual that only very skilled and experienced magicians can do. The Hyureeno family has the necessary resources and magical capabilities. They have already helped me control lycanthropic metamorphoses - thanks to their magic and artifacts, I can control this process at will... Only thanks to the help of Hyureeno, I no longer feel bouts of uncontrollable beast rage. Even on a full moon, I can now... remain human. Whatever awaits you in the castle, I will bring you back. And the elves of the Hyureeno family will lift the lycanthropic curse from me. Enough words. You don’t have the slightest chance to resist me, Jerome... Thanks to the sense of smell of werewolf, I can smell you everywhere... I am many times stronger... Don’t **** me to take the form of a werewolf again - just obey..."
A muscular naked man takes a step towards you...
Franz is getting closer to you... He is only ten meters away from you...
Your mind is filled with horror...
Are you doomed to return to Tideblade Castle?!
Are you really doomed to end your life in the dark dungeon of this castle?!
What should you do now?!
You reflexively grab the large Oolok’s bag that is lying on the grass near your feet. You empty all the things from your bag.
Among the many things like food, flasks of water, bags of coins, you see... weapons.
The half-orc was probably able to steal some weapons from the castle.
You peer and grab this weapon with your trembling hands.
This weapon is already familiar to you, but before you realize it...
You simply grab the shaft and... throw it towards the inexorable threat approaching you.
The silver-white wooden shaft of a small spear quickly flies towards Franz.
There is a loud electrical “crackling” sound...
The weapon was clearly magical - it was as if several semi-illusory spears had hit the target at once...
The shiny silver spearhead (which almost looked like it was made of glass) strikes the chest of a muscular human man.
Probably Franz was so confident in his strength and superiority that he did not have time to react...
In addition to the fact that the tip of the spear pierced the flesh, there was a collision between the tip of the spear and the metal of the amulet that hung around Franz's neck.
A strange amulet, emitting a faint violet glow, on a bronze-colored chain, damaged by the tip of a spear.
Franz's body falls to the ground. He lets out a loud scream of hellish pain. The purple glow of the shattered amulet intensifies sharply. The magical spear pierced deep into the chest. A lot of blood…
The magical spear pulsates with blue light...
The auras of these two magical artifacts overlap.
The human body shakes in strong convulsions.
In addition to the blood, it is clear that the flesh seems to be melting from powerful heat...
The frenzied cries of agony of the creature you have struck make you feel dizzy.
A couple of seconds later something terrible happens.
The pulsations of magical auras reach their maximum.
An explosion occurs.
Pieces of bloody meat fly in different directions.
As a result of what happened, only pieces of charred meat and a lot of blood remained from Franz’s body, which soaked the grass and ground.
The amulet and spear were destroyed. It is likely that these two magical artifacts were imbued with magic of such opposite properties that their mutual collision caused a destructive chain reaction.
With trembling hands, you collect supplies into a large bag.
Then you run to the bushes where the half-orc lies.
It takes you ten minutes to bring a half-orc into a conscious state. He's injured. The werewolf's claws left deep gashes on his left shoulder and left arm. These wounds would have been even worse - only the iron chain mail prevented Oolok from being killed.
After Oolok woke up, you helped him bandage and treat his wounds.
You both then continued walking through the forest.
Only after some time did you realize the essence of what had happened.
You remembered where this magical spear came from...
This small spear with a short silver-white wooden shaft and a shiny silver tip was given to you by Franz himself.
This happened back in the city of Skelweerd.
The half-orc mentioned that he managed to steal something from Castle Tideblade.
Apparently Oolok was able to steal these weapons from the storage room of items that were previously confiscated from your group.
And now this magical spear has become a **** weapon.
You killed Franz with his own gift.
This seems like a cruel mockery of fate against a human who suffered from a lycanthropic curse and who wanted to stop being a monster at any cost.
Now Franz is not a werewolf. Now he's not a monster. Now he's just a corpse that's been torn to pieces.
And his killer is you.
Thoughts about what happened swarm in your mind.
There are even more anxious thoughts about the future in your mind.
Oolok, limping and holding his bandaged wound with his hand, continues to lead you through the forest...
What awaits you and your companion next?
