Unfortunately, I dont get a chance

I was still deciding what I should write when I heard him shout from the entryway of the shop.

"Hey, you two!" Adam yelled.

Adam was Davids' closest friend. I always had a serious destain for him, and although I tried to hide it, I think they both knew.

"You invited him?" I whispered angrily to my boyfriend.

"Yeah, sorry, I forgot to mention it..." he spoke softly, so Adam would not hear.

All I could do was sigh as Adam grabbed a chair and sat down with us. I closed the book and placed the pencil back onto the table. I then proceeded by putting on my fake smile.

"Dude, I found a book that lets me change literally anything I want about the world." David kept his voice down enough so no one could overhear but clearly excited to share his find with his friend.

"Uh huh....." Adam said, just as confused as I had been when David told me.

"Im serious, look!" David slid the book closer to Adam, trying to show off his supposed miraculous book.

"Well, let's try it out." Adam quickly picked up the pencil and began to write.
