Unfinished Business

As the opening day for both Wayward and the Phoenix approaches, Kate and Tara put on a full court press, working day and night to get everything ready. Almost every day, there's another call to Nick and Tommy, updates, questions, requests, all of which Nick continues to throw back to Kate with the assurance that whatever Kate decides will be fine with Nick. Tommy helps keep Kate and Tara from strangling him by stepping in frequently to remind Nick how annoying he is, forcing him to actually make decisions here and there. Overall, the time begins to fly, and even Tommy finds herself busy enough that she and Nick have to cut down to only having sex once or twice a day. With the hiring and construction all done, in the last week or two, Kate and Tara shift to making sure all the staff for both the bar and the hotel are fully trained and up to speed on the way business is going to be done. With them finally distracted enough to leave him alone, Nick has time to look back and figure out what unfinished business he might have to handle. Sitting down on a Friday morning when Tommy is over at the hotel helping Kate with final planning, Nick pulls out a pad of paper and makes a list of personal items he wants to cover.
