Uneventful

Call it beginner's luck but the first day of their trip is completely uneventful. Aside from a short break of dried nuts for lunch, they've made good progress. As the sun begins to set, sending long shadows plunging across the road, Brandon proposes they make camp for the night. With his forestry know-how, he quickly gets a fire going while Eris and Marcus set up the campsite. Their night is made even better when Brandon manages to snag a wild rabbit, and they enjoy roasting it over the fire.

However, when the time comes to sleep, a problem arises.

"There's only two tents?" Brandon asks.

"Yeah, Marcus didn't pack one." Eris shrugs her shoulders.

"Sorry... I didn't think I'd need it." Marcus sheepishly says. "I thought it'd be okay to just sleep outside."

Brandon shakes his head. "Well, looks like one of us is gonna have to share a tent with Eris. I call dibs."

"Wait, what?" Marcus protests. "You can't do that."

Eris agrees. "Why can't the two of you share a tent?"

"I'm not sleeping with a guy." Brandon says as if it's the most natural thing in the world. "Besides, Marcus is the one at fault for not bringing a tent so I should have first choice."

"But- but, then shouldn't you sleep in your own tent? It's more comfortable and better!" Marcus desperately tries to turn Brandon's logic on him.

"Eh." The sandy-haired man shrugs. "I'd rather sleep with Eris."

Their argument goes around in circles. It looks like Eris is going to have the final say in this.
