What's next?
Under Yusuuf's Rule
As her second son with Yusuuf gradually swelled her belly, the solution to her isolation had not manifested, not exactly. She still found herself increasingly insular, focusing on pleasing her husband, tending to their home, and raising her children. But there was a gradual displacement of her formerly staid Christian life as her second pregnancy progressed. Yusuuf found her a Muslim doctor; she shopped at a halal focused market; she joined a campus outreach group for Muslims, and as time when on, her white circle of friends and contacts were gradually replaced by brown and black faces.
And each evening, the punctual Somalian arrived home, the couple did their evening prayers, usually joined by the curious Emily, and Elizabeth serviced Yusuuf as only she could.
