Chapter 7 by bricktamland bricktamland

What's Next?

Uh, something like that.

"Well, I was meaning to ask you, Jeff got the job, but they want him to start right away. Like, tomorrow. So he isn't going to be able to make it home to open the house. He's mailing the key fob that overrides the fingerprint lock, but it won't be here for a few days. I was hoping that I could stay with you for just a few more days, just until I can get into the house."

Megan nodded and smiled at her sister. "Why of course you can stay, Ellie! I can take a few days from the office and work from home, so it can be just the two of us. It'll be a great time."

Elizabeth wanted to retort at the nickname, but decided to hold her tongue. Her sister was being generous, and if she had to put up with a few silly things like that, she could make do.

******

She was sitting on the couch trying to watch TV when her phone buzzed in her lap with two short ticks. She knew what that meant without having to look at the phone: Megan wanted something, and she walked into the home office above the garage to see what it was.

The last few days she'd been loafing around in just her thrift store t-shirts and gym shorts, hair up in a ponytail. She didn't feel the need to do much else, except for when Megan sent her on some errand to fetch a salad or something from the grocery store. While Megan had been dieting, Elizabeth found herself craving hamburgers, chicken, hotdogs... basically anything with meat that she could just eat with her hands. To save on dishes, she'd been using the same bowl every time, and just washing it after the meal.

Elizabeth sauntered into the home office where Megan was working and did a cheeky bow, "how may I serve thee, Mistress?"

Megan laughed, "Oh, stop that, seriously Ellie. It was funny the first time, you'll have to find something new."

Elizabeth pouted, but a smile crossed her lips a moment later. "Oh, my mistress is displeased!" She got down on her knees and put her hands on the edge of the desk right next to her face. She looked up at Megan with a grin. She could tell it made her little sister uncomfortable, which was the point to her teasing.

Megan scrunched up her face, but on the inside she felt a slight twinge. She'd never been interested in her sister before, not in that way, but something about having her at her beck and call gave her a feeling she hadn't had since her ex-husband left. She'd laughed off Elizabeth's joking around and acting like a servant, but secretly it had been a bit of a thrill.

"Fine, you want to act that way?" Megan reached over and tousled Elizabeth's hair. She put on an exaggerated babytalk voice, "Who's my good girl Ellie? Go get my tea, I left it on the counter in the kitchen. Fetch! Fetch girl!" She commanded.

Elizabeth laughed as she pranced into the kitchen and retrieved the tea. Her sister was fun to tease like this, as she could see in her face it made her uncomfortable, at least that's what Elizabeth figured. In reality, she felt like she didn't really have much to do around the house except wait for Megan to give her a task, or finish up work and come and hang out.

She set the tea down on the desk. "Here's your tea mistress! Will there be anything else?"

Megan took a sip, "good girl, that was fast." Elizabeth felt a sense of happiness well up. Of course she was a good girl, she always had been.

Alright, I'm going to turn the tables on Ellie, thought Megan. Let's see if I can make her squirm.

"And good girls get treats!" She pulled a chocolate truffle out of a drawer in her desk. "First you have to beg for it, who's a good girl?" She held it up over the side of the desk.

Elizabeth laughed, and dropped to her knees with her hands up in a position much like a dog would be in to beg for a treat. Her mind barely registered a series of buzzes from the phone she'd tucked into her bra.

Megan paused and smiled, looking down at her. Something in her eyes frightened Elizabeth for a moment. "You want the treat? What's the magic word?" She left the question open.

How does Elizabeth Answer?
