Ugly as Sin

Douglas reluctantly agreed to pursue a relationship with Zainab, an eighteen year-old Pakistani immigrant. She was, to put a word to it, homely. Growing up impoverished and malnourished, her lanky dusk-skinned frame was scrawny and bony. She had an overbite and a unibrow composed of rough black hairs. Her dark eyes looked at the older light-skinned male with disinterest and a touch of malevolence.
