Trying to explain things

Diana scrambled to grab her costume holding it over her front, hoping that it would cover enough of her body to retain her dignity. She hated the idea of cowering in front of her friends but she was under too much stress to put much thought into what they were thinking.

"Why is everyone here?" She asked, trying her best to keep her voice from cracking.

One of the Amazons stood forward "We had heard that you received a message from the Gods and that you were currently training for something." She trailed off a bit before asking what was clearly on her mind the whole time. "Why are you nude?"

The others voiced their agreement. Diana couldn't believe that they all saw her expose herself. How long had they been watching? And where was her mother? She had slunk off to the back to try and avoid staring at her naked daughter. As if that would be any help.

Diana stood up a little straighter, holding the outfit tight over her body and began to answer their questions. "Yes, I received news from Zeus who offered me extraordinary power if I agreed to his terms. His terms turned out to be that I fight naked. Just like the heroes of old." Saying it out loud made Diana realise just how ridiculous the whole thing was, yet it was now her reality.

She started to really hate the idea of standing there naked in front of her friends and family so she turned around so that they could only see her ass and started to slip into her outfit again. Although it was embarrassing, at least she was limiting what they could see and getting dressed again. Diana wasn't sure how much she wanted this kind of power if this is what she had to go through for it.

Once she was finished dressing, she turned back towards the crowd. 'Ok, you can go now, it's over." She declared, hoping that they would soon forget about what they just saw. "Mother, can I speak with you?" As the crowd started to disperse, Diana found her mother and pulled her to the side. "Gods that was mortifying."

"How much stronger are you?" Hippolyta asked with amazement. "I've never seen an Amazon that strong."

"It was quite amazing. It's the kind of power people only dream of." Diana stopped for a moment. Why were neither of them talking about her nudity? "Mother, I can't keep doing this."

"Why not?"

"Because..." Diana became flustered. She couldn't believe that her mother was trying to convince her to flaunt her naked body. "... that was the most humiliating moment of my life and that was just a few of my friends. You want me to strip naked in front of the whole world?"

"You are a guardian, Diana." Hippolyta put her hands on her daughters shoulders. "A hero. You have sworn to protect the people of Earth from harm. That promise is more important than anything, even your modesty." Hippolyta kissed her on the cheek before leaving her to think on her words.
