Chapter 2 by Karbenyte Karbenyte

Do you get up, or try to get a little more rest?

Try to get a little more rest

Dreams or no dreams, you aren't ready to wake up just yet.

"Reality can stuff it," you mutter to yourself as you roll over, away from the alarm clock, the shining sun, and the glaring reminders of the world that await you.

You fall back to sleep surprisingly easily, and are able to enjoy a brief but pleasant dream: you're back on your grandparents' farm as a boy, running through the fields, the warm sun on your face and the fresh, country breeze blowing through your hair. Maybe it's just the dream making you feel this way, but life was really good in those days.

You turn and look towards the farmhouse as you hear your grandmother calling you in for lunch and a glass of fresh iced tea.

"Henry," she calls. "It's time to come in!"

"But I don't wanna yet," your childish dream-self responds.

"But you have to," she calls back. "It's time to wake up."

With that, your alarm goes off, screeching in your ear and reminding you that yes, you do need to get out of bed and face the day. At least you had a fairly pleasant snooze.

What's next?
