Try and find the others

Something really weird was going on, and you were getting scared. None of your previous trips to Bali have been this strange. You had thought that this was going to just be a nice week long trip on your favorite tropical island, but never before have you had to experience something so distressing like this on the very first day. The worst that had happened was when one of your friends had bad stomach problems after a trip to the street restaurants. Not things like mysterious stains on your bed, sores on every muscle of your body and bitter after tastes in your mouth. The spotty memory lapses was the most worrying part, and you know Linda was not the kind of woman to forget things so easily. Thinking that it would be better to let the others know, the two of you decide to try and find them along the beach. Getting up from your loungers, you begin your search.

You find the 2 couples fairly easily by the jet ski jetty. The two of you try to explain your concerns to them, but they do not seem to understand what the issue was. They attributed the whole thing to bad room service, food and ****, of which they think it would be a good idea to complain to the resort manager. However, they could not explain how you and Linda could have forgotten about having a shower. They took this more like a blonde joke, and quickly switched their assessment of the situation as some kind of attempt to mess with them. They now think that the two of you were just pulling their legs. You have a hard time trying to figure it all out with them as you stood there at the jetty, discussing the everything that has happened to them, sans the awful nightmares. After some talking, a logical consensus was made to regroup with the remaining members of the crew. By the time the conversation was done, it was almost time to meet up after all.

You find your remaining 3 friends at the beach side bar. The blonde joke was repeated over by the 2 couples, and the others also brushed it off. You had every inclination to get mad at them, since you were trying to be serious, but you settle down after a couple of calming drinks. You sat next to Linda at the bar, debating with her on whether to keep pushing the issue or drop it entirely. It could all have been your imagination after all.
