Chapter 26 by merkros merkros

Does Gorlak try something? Do you try to escape? Or something else?

Try and escape.

You think that if you have any possible chance to get out of this situation...Now is the time to do it. You're alone with a small creature that barely comes up to your chest. Hopefully he can't catch you with his short, spindly legs. You steel yourself for a moment and suddenly stop and pull hard on the rope in Gorlak's hand. The sudden jerk of the rope takes him by surprise as you easily tug it out of his grasp. Without seeing how he reacts, you quickly turn and run as fast as you can back towards the opening of the portcullis.

Behind you, you hear the irate growl of the goblin as it quickly dawns on him what happens. You hear him charging towards you and increase the pace more. Briefly you turn your head to look behind you and see Gorlak bounding towards you on all four of his legs like a dog and is barreling down on you much faster than you could imagine. Pushing yourself as much as you can without losing your balance, you gasp and shout desperately hoping someone will hear you, "Help...Help!"

Unfortunately, it would seem as if you're not fast enough. Half-way to the opening you feel a heavy weight crash into your back as the goblin collides with you. This sudden change of your center-of gravity causes you to topple face-first to the ground. Gorlak wastes no time in wrapping his legs around you as you squirm and try and throw him off. You shout again, but that shout is quickly cut off by him pressing his hand over your mouth. The other arm wraps around your neck and he puts pressure on your throat making it hard to breathe. You struggle and squirm as your vision begins to fade before you finally black out.

You get woken abruptly by a bucket of cold water into your face. Gasping in surprise and roll onto your front as you get hit by a coughing fit from some of the water getting into your lungs before looking to see who threw the water at you. You stare at surprise at a large bald man standing over you. He's wearing a leather cuirass and his face and head are completely bald. What surprises you the most though is the fact that his lower torso is that of a snake. The man is a snakefolk. First goblins, now snakefolk. You wonder what other dangerous creature you're going to encounter in this horrible adventure.

The snakefolk speaks in a deep voice, "Wake up. It's time for our clients to examine the merchandise."

Then he slithers out of the cell and closes the door behind him with a loud clank. You stay on the floor and pant for a few more seconds while you recover, then look around the cell. The dark, dusky hall outside your cage appears to be the same construction style as the sewers suggesting that you're still in the undercity. You peek out and at the end of the hall you see the snakeman standing guard by the door...or more accurately the grate that leads out into the main system. Occasionally you see a shadowy figure pass by it. Looking down, you see a heavy iron collar has been put around your neck with the number 11 on it. Every once in awhile you hear a moan, or a whimper, or a cry for help coming from farther into the cells suggesting more people. All of them are female voices. Unsure of what else to do, you have **** but to sit and wait.

It isn't a long way before a clang rings out as the gate is opened and a pair of people walk down the hall. They stop in front of your cell and look in. You don't recognise them, but based on their clothes, they appear to be a couple of rich nobles. They're escorted by the snakefolk and whisper to themselves briefly before continuing down the hall. A few minutes pass and they continue down the way. After a little while they pass back through and the hall becomes deserted once again. Ten minutes pass before another group comes down the hall. This time the ones who show up at the front of your gate have similar builds and black cloaks to Gorlak. Denoting them as goblins. The leader of the group a female based on the sound of her voice. She whispers something to the guard that you can't quite make out and he opens the cell and walks into the room.

You move back into the corner of the room, "Get...Get away from me." but the snakefolk roughly grabs your arm and pulls you to the front of the cell. His grip is a vice as he moves one of his hands around your neck. The hands on this massive snakeman nearly completely wraps around your neck. The other hand reaches for the hem of your tunic and pulls it up, exposing your breasts to the goblin troupe. You struggle weakly, but have little choice, but to just stay there, whimper, and blush as you're exposed in front of these strangers. The goblins seem satisfied as they continue down the hall and the Snakefolk leaves and locks the door behind him.

This procession continues for about an hour and a half and all sorts of people and creatures wander through to inspect the goods. Eventually things die down and you hear activity at the far end of the hall, opposite of the gate you can see from your cell. You try and see what's going on, but the activity is out of your vision. Although sound is another story. It certainly sounds as if the prisoners are being taken away...presumably to be auctioned. It seems like forever until it's finally your turn. The snakefolk arrives at your door and growls at you, "come on girl. Your turn" and opens the cell. As soon as you step out he puts a chain around your collar and pulls you down the hall. In the distance you can see outside. It's dark out, but still brighter than these dank cells. You get led out and look around into the open area. It appears to be an old reservoir or some sort of holding container. Sheer walls encircle you and up above you see twenty or thirty people circling around. You recognize many of them as people who inspected the 'merchandise', but others you don't recognize.

The snakefolk pulls you up onto a wooden platform set in the center of it and also on the stage is a grandiose man. He flairs his arms dramatically, "Our last item for the night, Number 11. This beautiful blonde maiden was captured along the road. She is very inexperienced and has only had sex twice. Certainly she seems eager to learn in whatever tasks you wish of her and is quick to learn many skills such as cooking and cleaning. We'll start the bidding tonight at 200 silver drakes!"

Now you know why Boris insisted on not touching you. Presumably less experienced women were sold for more. Although you do wonder why he did those things to you in the first place if that was the case. Perhaps he couldn't resist your looks, or didn't decide to sell you until after. The bidding itself was a confusing mess. You have never been to an auction, so many of the words that were said by the fancy man was gibberish to you. However, you do hear the money and it quickly travels into gold territory and then thousands of gold coins. Finally the bidding dies down and you hear the auctioneer shout "Sold!"

Who buys you
