She lounged across my bed behind me, forcing me to turn around and face her.

"Samara, some weird stuff's been happening."

"Yeah, I know. In the last 2 days, you've vanished off of the face of the earth twice."

"That's not even the worst of it, I saw a fucking dragon."

She sat up, eyes wide.

"What?"

I told her the whole story, from casting Greater Teleportation the day before, to waking up outside just a few minutes ago. She stood up as I spoke, meandering around my room.

"Holy shit, dude."

"What? Do you know what's happening?"

She scoffed.

"Somehow, you fell into the fucking empty plane."

"I don't follow."

"It's where monsters and other magical things go when they die. That explains why I couldn't sense you, it's a one way trip, at least it should be. But when you died there, you got sent back. That's fascinating."

"Fascinating? That's what you would use to describe my situation?"

"Yeah."

She flippantly waved away the fact that I had literally died twice.

"Now, that shadowy figure, it knew your name?"

"Uh, yeah, it did. You think it read my mind?"

"It's possible, but I think it's something else."

"How else could it have known."

She paced in a circle, brow furrowed.

"I need to talk to Lilith. I'll be back soon. In the meantime, you need to talk to Lexi."

I sighed, massaging my temples.

"Why are you so invested in our relationship?"

She looked at me solemnly.

"You're my warlock, my mortal champion. It's in my best interest to ensure your best interests."

"Why do I get the feeling there's more you aren't telling me?"

She grinned at me.

"All in good time, Lucas."

A cloud of gray smoke began to surround her.

"Oh and, this may sound weird, but look at her boobs, trust me."

With that little bit of advice, Samara disappeared back to the hells.

I took a few deep breaths. I mean, All I had to do was tell Lexi that I had lied to her about everything for almost 2 months, and was working for a literal demon. What could go wrong?

I emerged from my room and knocked on her door.
